Favor Advice Needed!

Hi Gals,

So we are just under 4 weeks from the wedding and I'm having a little anxiety. We are having a cigar roller come to our reception and have also ordered matchbooks to go with that. Originally, that was going to be our favors, but now I'm wondering if that is enough or if I should have an additional option for those who don't smoke! I also made flip flp baskets and OOT bags for the hotels, but that won't be of any value to the older family members who wear comfy shoes and aren't staying at the hotel Do you think I should have another option? If so, any ideas for something on the cheaper side that I can get relatively quick as the cigars have taken up most of my budget!

Hm... the trick is to choose something that everyone else wants. At first I was thinking chocolates but let's face it... other people will take those! I liked the idea of photo picture frames. You can get them packs of two for a $1.50 so basically $0.75 for each or $1.50 if you want to give them the whole package. Check out bed bath and beyond:

Typically cigars target more of the men. So something that target women might be helpful. Another option could be seed packets! That's what we're doing for everyone even if it may target more of the women :-)

I think you have plenty! I either give favors away or leave them on the table when I attend weddings! We are also doing a flip flop basket and instead of a cigar roller, a box of cigars in the men's room. It's more than enough:)

That's enough. I'm of the mindset that most wedding guests don't care about favors anymore (if they ever did)-- that it's something we brides do to assuage our own fears over not being polite or appreciative. You've done plenty; I don't think those who don't partake will be looking around for something else.

yeah, I don't think you need anything else either.

But if you really want to do something, I *LOVE* chocolates when we go to weddings. That's pretty much the only favor I like. Well, or cookies, something edible. We're doing Godiva chocolate favors (yum). They have these new truffle gems that are pretty cheap, like $0.50 each. So 2 per person, plus cost for little bags/ribbon. Assembly required though!

I think that that is plenty. Most favors are wasted now days.

We didn't do "favors" per say, but we had a lot of little things to make things fun or more comfortable for our guests, and that worked in lieu of specific favors. We didn't place anything at the place settings, so guests wouldn't feel obligated, but could take what they wanted.
We had:
-a beverage station at the church with lemonade/iced tea/bottles of water
-we had baskets of hankies ("to dry your eyes") & fans ("to keep you cool") at the church for people to take if they wanted
-we had our guests ring little silver bells as we exited the church (instead of throwing birdseed or anything)--and most guests took them home with them
-we had umbrellas for guests to use between the ceremony & reception (good thing bc it rained--they almost all got used, and everyone who took one took it home with him/her)
-we had a bowl of novelty wishbones on the bar at the restaurant for people to make wishes with
-we had caricaturists draw our guests & they got to take home their drawings
-we had flip-flops for the ladies
-we gave the 2 youngest guests (6 & 7 yrs old) each a little gift bag with small treats for them (funny glasses, wax lips, wooden tic tac toe games, etc)

LOL...DH's auntie told us she was glad she brought her big bag to take home all the freebies from our wedding
