Need some ideas for ceremony decor PIP

This is our ceremony space.  I am stuck on what to do with it.  We only have an hour before the ceremony starts to set up if we are going to bring in our own stuff (the chairs will be set up for us).  I've looked at pictures of other weddings that have taken place here, and they just looked so...plain. Any ideas?

  • Well I see you're having a fall wedding. Is it fall inspired? If so...

You could line the aisle with pumpkins with candles or flowers inside.
You could go all out on the altar with fall garland and hanging lights.
You could get pretty fall leaves and spread them up the aisle.
You could get hanging mason jars on shephard's hooks down the aisle.
You could do fall stacking clay pots instead of the topiaries.
You could stack hay bales around the area with pumpkins, candles, gourds, mums decorating them.
I love the trees in the background though. It really is a gorgeous venue.

If it's not fall inspired, what is the look you're going for?

  • I love the pumpkin ideas!  I would like to go for a fall look since it's my favorite time of year.  I also LOVE candles.

  • I think it's a gorgeous space and doesn't need a whole lot of decoration.

Pomanders on the chairs on the aisle... white Christmas lights around the gazebo thing at the front... 2 big floral arrangements or trees or piles of pumpkins with one on either side of the gazebo... but honestly I think the white chairs against beautiful nature looks great on its own and doesn't need much jazzing.
  • You could do fake leaves on fishing line and hang them from the gazebo. I wouldn't invest too much into ceremony especially if it's not a mass. We had a fall wedding and all we did for ceremony is 2 trees (lit & decorated) and scattered leaves down the aisle. There are pics in my bio under "ceremony". The trees were $200 each and included the florist taking them and setting up at the reception site.

  • When it comes to places that are beautiful all on their own, I like to let nature do its work.  If you really want something then maybe drape colored fabric from the archway.

  • I'd probably do some drape-y flowers on the top of the arch and maybe running down the columns a  bit and line the aisle with flower petals. I'm having a hard time envisioning what it would look like lined with leaves -- in my head, it seems like it would just look like the aisle needs to be cleaned! But I haven't seen a picture like that so maybe it looks more intentional than I'm imagining.

Besides that, I'd just leave it. It's a beautiful site with beautiful background and really doesn't need anything else.
  • Thanks everyone!  I really like the idea with leaves.  :)  I'm thinking maybe something using pumpkins with candles and the leaves.

This is where I got the "flowers down the aisle" idea. I didn't do it in my wedding, but I thought another bride may be able to run with it.
