October 2012 Weddings

Trying... not.... to.... PANIC!

I called our venue today (all inclusive hotel) to confirm that we could get an early check in day of the wedding (we only need 2 more hours). They said they are so booked that night that they can't guarantee anything. **deep breath** FI and the guys and me and the girls are all supposed to get ready and take pictures there day of starting at 1:30 (check in is 3). Ceremony is at 5 so we can't exactly push anything any later.  ""deep breath"" I figure I have two options:
1. (not in budget but can try to *squeeze it in*)Book our rooms the night before so there is no worry about not getting an early check in. Then me and any girls who might want to can stay there that night, everything will be there. Then drive 45 minutes in the AM to where our hair/makeup is, then drive back and relax before getting ready day of.
2. Cross my fingers they get the rooms ready when we need them day of.

Number 2 obviously sucks, but number 1 costs money and time and gas day of but probably less stress.

What would  you ladies do??

Re: Trying... not.... to.... PANIC!

  • I had to book the girls room the night before in order to secure it for the MUA to arrive at 10 am. It definitely cost extra money but otherwise we had nowhere to put her since they won't allow her in the salon.

Honestly, I know it's extra money but it's not worth the stress to freak out for the next 9 days until you know if they get booked or not.

  • If the hotel is that booked will they have an extra room"
  • Same exact problem, the could not guarantee that we would even get the room by three, and with the wedding at five we need the room by 1:30/2:00 at the latest, so we had to get another night. But it kind of worked out since I am not spending the night before with FI, I don't have to stay with my parents, I get a nice hotel room and I am going to bring my swim suit so that I can relax the night before. Just my ipod, nook, hot tub and my self, it will be the best way to relax before the stress starts in the morning.

  • Ditto Megen, even so we're doing a first look we're spending the night apart. My two MsOH will come be spending the night with me for our last "sleep over" like we always talked about as teenagers.

  • Yeah, I booked the hotel for both the night before the wedding as well as the night of the wedding.  Hair and Makeup starts at 10am, so we couldn't just book 1 day either.

I agree that your piece of mind might be worth the extra money

  • They don't have a hospitality suite that you can get ready in?

  • I would book the extra night... a bit more cash for piece of mind is worth it... (then again that is easier said than done I am sure)
  • I would book the night before. Is there a possibility of the stylist/makeup artist coming to the hotel instead of you driving there? It might cost a little more but probably worth it.
