Going Dress Shopping Tonight

I'm so nervous I could pee my pants. We're not buying till November but my mother is like going insane that I'm so casual about everything and avoiding the dress. I feel like its sooo early and I have no idea what I'm looking for.

    Depending on the dress can take anywhere from 4 to 8 months to make an ship plus alterations. I bought mine in June and I should be getting it Oct Nov an then alterations will probably need to be done.

    I agree with Danny&Mel that maybe waiting until November is cutting it a little close depending on where you purchase your dress from. Just make sure that when you do find one you like you ask them how long their turn around time is =)

    I've been looking for about a month now (still looking, but have narrowed my search down to a specific style at this point - just gotta find "the one")... and most places are telling me that I'm right in the time frame of needing to order my dress now (or within the next month or two)... Depending on what you're looking for, it can take 6-8 months for a dress to come in, and then plan for 2-3 months of alterations... that puts us about now-ish.

    If you're planning on buying off the rack, then November time frame works... it just depends on what your plan is. If you don't plan on having to order something and wait shipping time, then just explain to your mom that the only time you'll need is for alterations and that certainly won't take 10 months.

    You're not too early at all actually, sometimes dresses can take up to 8 months to come in so it's good you're going now :-)

    Yeah I would not wait until November to buy a dress. I bought mine in April and it wasn't suppose to come in until September but I actually was lucky and it came in early June. But waiting until November is really pushing it

    Yea, I was told mine can take up to 9 months to arrive, so buying it last week was a good time to purchase!

    Agree with everyone above, dresses may take a long time depending where you are looking to purchase from mine take 8 months and I ordered mine in May. Best of luck have fun!

    I went in just to look and ended up falling in love and buying my dress that day. It is now nicely hung in my closet and ready to go.

    So if you fall in love, don't be afraid to buy it early :)

    Have fun!! Dress shopping is so much fun. And I agree with the other ladies, it's smarter to buy it early and have extra time then wait too long and cut it close.

    If you find a dress, buy it!  Don't wait!  It's never too early- it can always wait to be altered but it can take up to 8 months for a dress to come in.

    LOL, sooooo maybe I am a little too casual about the entire dress thing HAHA. Well, I called the shop we're going to today and she said if I order in November it should -  without any issues come in Feb. Soooo I guess that's a little close. Soooo I'm going with an open mind and if I love I'll buy. :)
