Registery for destinations

So my fiance and I are both living outside of the state but we both grew up in Ohio where most of our family lives so we decided to get married there!  Is there a nice way to ask for just money so we don't have to take 200 gifts back on the airplane with us?  Or does anyone have any other suggestions on how to make this work?

Thanks!

just don't register for anything and let your parents/friends spread the word that you'd prefer cash when people ask. however, lots of people buy gifts off a registry and have them delivered ahead of time, so i don't know how much you should worry about this. your friends and family could also spread the word about ordering gifts and having the shipped to you in advance.

My sister got married in Cincinnati and lives in TX.  It was very clear on their registry webpage and through word of mouth that items were to be shipped to TX and not brought to the wedding.  Very few people actually brought gifts to the wedding.

Register for online only gifts that way they have to mail them to you!

Try a site like www.honeyfund.com - It's an easy and not tacky way to ask for money.   I've known several couples who've used it (some of whom didn't actually go on a honeymoon anyway).  I think we are going to use it, along with a small registry.
