Hi everyone! I'm getting married on Waikiki next May, is it windy on this beach? I'm trying to decide if I want my hair all up or half up. My hair is below my shoulders so I wouldn't want it blowing all over. Also, does anyone know what stylists charge for wedding up do's? Thanks!

    We were in Waikiki in July and honestly, I didn't notice any wind.  Perhaps it was because I was on vacation and not caring, but I definitely noticed it on the North Shore - constantly windy up there.  For my updo on Maui I paid $300 for a hair trial and my hair the day of wedding.  It was expensive, but worth it to be in good hands!

    I paid about the same as AKWB - trial and updo.  I was really thankful to have it up - wind, whipping my head around, sweating, etc.  Curls on me flatten really quickly so I wanted it up & clean.

    Of course, my hairdo was poorly executed so it was flying all over the place by the start of the reception but hey, what can you do? :)  It was stil better than having it down IMO.

    ETA - I think it costs similarly for an updo or a half-up do, so really choose what you like and what works for you.

    its usually not very windy on the waikiki area beach wise, compared to other areas on the island.  But being outside, definately prepare for some breeze

    Not windy like the girls have said. For me it had to be up b/c my hair doesn't hold curl. I used Gemina with Faith & Beauty & her hair girl was amazing. My hair didn't move an inch & looked just as good at the end of the night as it did in the beginning. I actually didn't do a trial run b/c I didn't have time/money. But sent her inspiration pix & it turned out better than the pictures! I think I paid $150 for hair & make up w/o attendants. If you have girls who want it too, it goes down. Plus a $25 travel fee I believe. Just hair was $85 then the $25 travel fee. HTH's
