I thought this was an interesting topic because my sister in law and I were talking about it earlier this week. So I thought I'd feel out how other AAW brides feel.

1. Who makes more? You or your significant other?

2. Does it affect your relationship? If so, how have you adjusted?

3. Is the person who makes more typically the decision maker in your relationship?

4. Would you look at a man differently if he makes less than you?

I make more than FI.

It doesn't affect our relationship.

We collectively make decisions on things that effects both of us and major purchases.

1. Who makes more? I make more than my fiance.

2. Does it affect your relationship? It doesn't affect our relationship at all. He's proud of me because I never thought in a million years that without a college degree, I'd be offered an opportunity to make the amount of money I make. We just view it as a blessing.

3. Is the person who makes more typically the decision maker in your relationship? Nope. Even though I make more, I don't make major decisions without his input.

4. Would you look at a man differently if he makes less than you? Probably not.

2. Does it affect your relationship? If so, how have you adjusted? Not a bit. We collaborate on all financial decisions.

3. Is the person who makes more typically the decision maker in your relationship? No not really but I am the more thrify of the two.

4. Would you look at a man differently if he makes less than you? Not at all. My last serious relationship my ex made way more than I did (21 years older too) and he was an insecure jerk. Money does not make the man.

2. Does it affect your relationship? If so, how have you adjusted? It doesn't affect our relationship.

3. Is the person who makes more typically the decision maker in your relationship? No, I make the majority of decisions especially about social calendar. We make big decisions like vacations together.

4. Would you look at a man differently if he makes less than you? Yes. I don't make that much I'd want to know how he screwed up to be on the same pay grade as me.

2. Does it affect your relationship? If so, how have you adjusted? Nope not at all. When FI moved here to be with me and people asked why he moved he proudly said it made sense for him to move where I am since I have kids and he didnt want me to lose the job I had. He could just transfer within his company.

3. Is the person who makes more typically the decision maker in your relationship? Not really. Even though I do make some decisions without him, typically I consult him before making any major moods. The downside is that his usual response is "Im cool with that" which drives me crazy when I really want his input. But we are working on that.

4. Would you look at a man differently if he makes less than you? No I don't think so because you never know a person's story until you get to know them and there might be a reason for it - like ours. Plus I've been on the other side, never want to be in a relationship like that again where salary made a man think he's the head of it all.

2. Does it affect your relationship? If so, how have you adjusted? Not a bit…Plus we are both on the same page as far as our financial goals are concern.
3. Is the person who makes more typically the decision maker in your relationship? No, even thou I make more…..we make major decisions together.

4. Would you look at a man differently if he makes less than you? Not at all. It’s the matters of the heart that counts.

1. Who makes more? You or your significant other?- I make more

2. Does it affect your relationship? If so, how have you adjusted?- No we decided that we both will keep the same amount of money in our personal accounts each pay period and then place the remainder into our joint account, which we use for almost all bills, and necessary expenses. Personal accounts are for non work clothes, shoes, etc etc....so yes, I end up putting more in, but I spend more each month as well and its actually helped me save my own personal money,....

3. Is the person who makes more typically the decision maker in your relationship?- nope 50/50, maybe sometimes I have slightly more say on huge purchases but very seldom

4. Would you look at a man differently if he makes less than you?- not at all

2. Does it affect your relationship? If so, how have you adjusted? Surprisingly, no. I found out about a year and a half into it that when we first started dating, he would try to keep up with mys pending because he felt he had to. But once I squashed that...we were good. Now that we spend all our money on our son, we're always broke anyway so it doesn't even matter. LOL

3. Is the person who makes more typically the decision maker in your relationship? Not at all. We make every decision together if it involves spending more than $2.00. Because we're trying to achieve certain goals, we HAVE to be accountable to each other. When we only have a certain amount of money in our accounts but it's still a week from pay day, we both start looking crazy. So we try to talk about money as we go so there are no issues...as we go.

4. Would you look at a man differently if he makes less than you? No way! I love my man for what he brings to the table and can't be taken away from him. He loves me, treats me well, he's a wonderful, loving father, he's funny, smart, puts family first... These are all that matter. These are in his heart and no one can downsize or terminate that. That's his (and mine) forever.

2. Does it affect your relationship? If so, how have you adjusted? No, not at all.

3. Is the person who makes more typically the decision maker in your relationship? No, we make all decisions together

4. Would you look at a man differently if he makes less than you? Nope. As long as he doesn't complain about it.

It doesn't affect our relationship at all.

I think I make more decisions and it doesn't seem to bother FI.

4. Would you look at a man differently if he makes less than you?
Absolutely not.
