Fun Reception Details

I am bored, the day is already going by slowly, apparently I am one of the only people in the entire city of Indianapolis that is working today....so I want to talk about some fun wedding stuff!

What fun details are you planning for your reception that you are really excited about? Whether it is something huge (like a choreographed dance) or something small (pretty straws to use during cocktail hour), I want to see it! I know everyone has been working on detail-oriented projects lately, and I would love to know what eveyrone has been up to and what everyone is most excited about.

Our ballroom reception is going to be pretty formal, classic, and traditional, but we want to add some fun decorations and twists to make it seem a bit more modern.

We are using two big serpent tables that will twist around a high floral-decorated cocktail table in the middle to place the escort cards on. The escort cards will have cute silver bow charms tied to them, like this, only with bows (to coordinate with the huge bows that are on the back of the BM dresses), and we will probably do tent-style cards to set up around the table instead of cards like these:

The escort cards will weave around the table, alternative rows of escort cards with framed pictures that I will be copy-cating from below (only adding groomsmen into it too)

I am also really excited about our macaroons. Our pastry chef recently started doing them in a "french lavender" shade, which goes perfectly with our color scheme. They will look like this, except one macaroon will be lavender and one will be ivory, the ribbon will be silver, and we MIGHT order some small monogram stickers or something to put on the bags as well:

FI and are I changing outfits before we enter the reception.W
We hired an 11 piece band (including a three piece horn section). They are the best wedding band I've heard and I'm so excited to shock people with how good they are.
Our guestbook is a wooden puzzle that when put together is shaped like a tree. One piece has our initials in it (matches our save the dates).
We have a "topsy-turvy" wedding cake with a special design and our cake toppers are elephants that when put together, their trunks form a heart.
Wedding Mad Libs for everyone to fill out at their tables
To go along with our Indian theme, every table number is actually a name of something within Indian culture (lotus, mehndi, taj mahal, etc...)
Our reception decor will be full of bright bold colors, just the way I wanted it. It will still be elegant though.
