Tall Bride

Any dress stores that are not super expensive in the Austin area that will be able to custom order a dress with longer proportions in the torso for a tall bride?  Someone told me to go to Serendipity but they are very expensive.  I am 6'1'' and adding extra length at the bottom is not going to fix the proportions of the dress in general.  Or, does anyone know if a custom dress maker in Austin?

You might try Davids Bridal.  Their website claims they have dresses in petite, plus, and tall sizes.  I purchased my dress there and didn't feel like they were very expensive.

    Hi!
Just fyi, I am 5'11" and I was told I would need to add extra length too, but when I tried on some dresses with my chosen heel height, it turned out I was aok and didnt need to after all!  I am from Houston and getting married in Austin, but my dress is a Maggie Sottero which is a popular brand that they sell at lots of shops, it was well under 1k and I got the normal length.  My heels are about 2.5" tall.  OH, and the maggie sottero brand could have easily added extra length on mine had I wanted it...Anyhow, good luck!!

Just an FYI ... I did go to David's Bridal and they do not have "tall" sizes.  They had no idea what I meant when I asked if the dresses could  be ordered with extra long bodices or torsos.  When they advertise that they have  tall sizes, I suppose they mean that they will add length to the bottom of the dress only.
On a positive note, I did try on dresses at another store that is local in Austin.  The brands that seemed to fit okay (except that I'm too fat for them..another story) were Angelina Faccenda, Lasposa, and Ella.  The salesperson told me that the Lasposa dresses were designed for women who are 6'1".  I don't know if it's true, but they did seem to fit way better than the ones at David's.
