My shipment came in :)

Got this Monday but forgot to post!

My satin came in ;)  I'm super excittteedd.  I won't know for sure it if will work until I unroll some of it so I need to wait until I've got the space in my sewing room before I do so, haha.    But its here!

Also my chair sashes (mid), and organiza(right) + ribbon(left) for favor bags. The "flaw" in the organza was the dye lot was off, as it should have been the same color as the chair sashes.  They were OOS on the table runners, but I was just buying them to fluff up my purchase for free shipping so no big deal!    I haven't decided if I'm going to use the organza, donate it, or use it for a NWR project.  I was going to put blue and green wrapped hershey kisses in them, so its not like being more green and less blue is going to hurt anything, and no one should know unless I tell them.

  • I'll probably go ahead and get started on the skirt and try to finish it up between now and fall because the skirt should be super easy to take in if I (hopefully) lose weight.  I'll probably wait on the bodice until after Christmas since that's the part that will be affect most by any potential loss (or heaven forbid - gain).

I could always do other accessories, like a garter & veil in the meantime as well since nothing should change with those size-wise, with the exception of possibly tightening the elastic on my garter.

  • I wish I was able to make my own wedding dress but I just don't trust myself with something that big and important.  I know my luck and I know I would royally mess something up.  I am making my Going Away Dress.  I just bought a pattern from JoAnne Fabrics yesterday and bought about 20 rolls of royal blue ribbon for my actual presents for wedding party and family.  Kinda glad they are discounted and will not be buying more because they were 75% of the cost they normally would have been.  We are having a hard time matching my blue and we wanted to do table clothes but couldn't find the right fabric to make them or even runners.  But none the less the perfect blue ribbon we found that we would have used instead on the table only had 20 rolls that would be shipped in from other stores.  And for a 300 person sit down dinner/wedding that would have never been enough.  So now.... I'm back on the search lol where did you get your fabic?

  • TBH, Linentablecloth - and so far its perfect!  It doesn't have too much sheen (which is why I actually usually HATE satin).  The only complaint I have thusfar is it might be a little thin, but I have more than 2x as much than I need (it was only an extra $15 for 4x the fabric of the next smallest roll) so I can double up on the skirt.  I was already planning on using 3 layers on the bodice anyways, one for construction around the boning, one for lining + one for decorating and my bridal corset I'm buying and petti I already own are both white to begin with.

I took a gamble, but I wont' know until I get it unrolled and properly inspected if it worked out or not :)
