Shoe Help... sorry a little long!

So I know my dress is a little on the formal side but I am becoming cheap and do not really want to spend a lot on a pair of shoes I will more than likely only wear once. You will also not be able to see them as my dress is quite long.

So here are the two pairs I have narrowed it down to but can not decide on which one I want. FI is taller than me and I need some height to not look so short. Any opinion is welcome.

P.S I love being able to just upload a pic!!

I'd go for the taller flip flops before the platform tennis shoes, but that's just me.

I think Victoria's Secret also has taller flip flops?  Try http://www.like.com as well - they have an awesome visual search feature for shoes!

I don't think I would have been comfortable in flip flops all day, but then again, I don't really care for them anyway.  With the extra weight of the dress, I would have been worried about them slipping off of my feet.  That said, I think they look nicer than the tennies.

I'm not partial to either of those, but I would go for something similar to the flippy floppies...however without the playboy bunnies on them.

I have never been a fan of platform flip flops or sneakers, so I'm probably not the best person to answer this Smile But I just wanted to point out that the flip flops might not be the best choice for the ceremony if they make the "flip flop" sound when you walk in them!

There are definitely other options for cheap shoes out there- payless, 6pm.com, target. So I say have a little fun and buy a cheap pair you will wear again. Or better yet wear a pair of heels you already own and are comfortable in- Saves $ and your feet! Just my two cents!

I agree with PPs.....I'm not a fan of either for your ceremony....I definitely vote on the flip flops for the reception. You can always go to Davids Bridal and try on their bridal shoes....they always have sales, I've seen them as low as $10-20, which isn't bad if you are only going to wear them for an hour.

Plus, this might be me, but I don't feel dressy in flip flops or tennis shoes so I would feel weird walking down the aisle in such a beautiful dress wearing something like that rather than a high heel....JMO!

I agree with the other ladies. Not partial to either but I bet the sandals would be fine for the reception. As for walking down the aisle in them, the 'flip-flop' noise probably wouldn't be the best thing ever!

I wore tennis shoes - kinda.  They were blue and white flowered sketchers that were the Mary Jane style tennis shoes.  DH is only a few inches taller than me so I pretty much had to wear flats or else look like I towered over him.  They were super comfy and everyone got a kick out of them when they saw them.  I was rediculously comfortable in them and nobody was the wiser unless I raised my skirt to keep from stepping on it.  I do agree with pps about the "flip flop" sound from your first option. I didn't even consider them because a) I didn't want to hear them all day and b) I didn't want them falling off my feet.

Have you been checking out knotties for sale pages?  I think shoes would be a common item on them.  What size are you?  Maybe someone here is willing to sell theirs for less than they bought them.  Mine were a size 8 (PIB under attire), and I might be willing to sell them if you're interested.

I just found my shoes at DSW, after the 40% off for them being on clearance and I had a $10 gift certificate for joining their rewards program the shoes were only $22. I didn't want to spend a ton on shoes either, so I checked Famous Footwear, Payless, many internet sites and fnally DSW. I agree with PP, keep looking, you'll find the right ones at the right price for you.
