RECEPTION sites for 200 guests?

Hey all,

So, I have a bad feeling about the contract I just signed today with my venue (The YWCA). Just in case this sinking feeling doesn't pass, I am wanting to look for other options.

Anyone know of places for 200-250 guests? That allows you to provide your own caterer and alcohol?

I don't want to go through searching every venue in Columbus again, but they have all run together in my head.

Thanks!!

Your best bet would be to pick up a copy of Columbus Bride magazine if you can. I see you are in Cincy though.

What areas of Cbus are you looking?

Don't use the Makoy Center in Old Hilliard. The man that was helping us get a quote was incredibly rude to me and my FI. That may be different with you though. It's a beautiful location though. They do their own catering though. But, its good catering!

Thanks I just checked out the VDB, I am just worried they are going to charge so much for alcohol...but we'll see

The Swim and Racquet club is our top choice....but we would over-flow the place! It can only comfortably hold about 150. So sad, because it's gorgeous and so cheap!

I will have to check out the sanctuary.

And I'm IN COLUMBUS! Ah, anyone know how to change what it says under your name? lol. People probably think I'm nuts posting under Columbus boards.

I am looking literally ANYWHERE that will work in the Columbus area. Hopefully not more than 30 min outside Grove City though (where the ceremony is)

Thanks for all your suggestions so far!!

That's my problem!!! At the YWCA everything seemed like it would be great, but when I brought up using a seprate vendor for catering and bartending (because the caterer I want does not have bartending services) the guy THREW A FIT. So...I signed the contract just because it's the only place that will seem to hold enough people and allows our own catering and alcohol.....but I'm scared this is going to be a very bad "working-relationship" between me and the coordinator...as in, I might not be able to use this caterer that is $2,000 cheaper than anyone else I found, so what's the point!?

    Frustrated.

krazywizard, bahaha, I told you to look into the gahanna sanctuary, that is where my friend is getting married and there are like NO rules.

But, I thought The OGS  was only for 175? Hence my hesitation! :-P

I really liked the Makoy Center in Hilliard. They were just too expensive for our budget. And besides, I don't think they will let you bring in your own alcohol.

St. Charles Preperatory Academy! It sounds weird, but a lot of ppl use it for their reception. You have to hire in your own caterer and bring your own alcohol. It works best with over 200 guests. We looked there, but at 150-175, it was too big a space for us.

The Blackwell Hotel holds up to 250 guests. It's really nice and Blaire is super sweet to work with!

We just had our reception here and it was wonderful!  We got SO many compliments on the venue, and TJ at Berwick Manor was AWESOME to work with.  The space can hold up to 400 people.  We ended up having 188 and it felt perfect!  Not too big or too small.  Feel free to PM me with any questions!
