I want to but haven't selected anyway. I put up a request on gigmasters and got several responses, but they all seemed to cost more than I wanted to pay. I'll be watching this thread...

    Sorry I can't help more.

I am having a steel pan for the ceremony and cocktail hour.  He's a personal friend, but an excellent musician!  He also has a caribbean style band, of which you can have the solo steel pan, a duo, trio, quartet or the full quintet.  Let me know if you want more info.

Could you post the info for your friend?  I am also looking for a ceremony musician and I love steel drums.  Thanks!  Jess

His contact info is on the website, as well as some sound and video clips.

You can tell him Amanda recommended him :-)

If you are interested in strings, I used a group out of Cambridge, but they traveled to the Cape for a very reasonable price.  I used the viola/cello combination, which was absolutely lovely.  Her name is Rose Wollman (she is the violist) - you can see pics and other info in my bio.

Katie Lynch is an excellent harpist and always responded to my emails in a really timely manner (i think she's about $300 for the ceremony, has her own amp, etc). We decided to go with a cello duo - Schultze and Ericsson - they are excellent and I'm sure they will be great for the wedding, but they have not been the most reliable at communication (about $425 for the ceremony).

Katie Lynch Koglin is going to play harp for our ceremony.  Like previous posters have said, she's been really great to work with!

I looked at the cello duo and was surprised by their price.  I paid $375 for my string duo - and that included travel from Cambridge.  I thought that they would be more cost effective, being local, but that wasn't the case.

Karen'sMOH - how did you make out with the conservatory?

Actually, I got a reply saying they would forward it to anyone who might be interested, and I never heard anything back. Still haven't booked anything. I also emailed the person CCBelle recommended and didn't hear back.
