NWR - House Question

Hi ladies, first I apologzie for such a strange question. But hopefully someone can help me out here.

We are looking to buy a 1974 split level home, the kind where you walk into the foyer, which is pretty big actually, and you either go up or down. Well its okay for now, but would like to do renovations and additions down the road and was wondering if anyone has ever seen this done? I just cant visualize this and I've searched the web like crazy.

Any help would be awesome!

Thanks

if you check www.themlsonline.com and do an advanced search, you can narrow down search results under 'single family homes' to display split level homes....

We have a 1976 split-entry house that we just bought in June.  What kind of renovations are you considering?  I'm not sure you can alter the actual layout and make it not split-level, if that's what you're asking.  Or, if you can... it'll be super expensive and you might lose space?  But, my aunt/uncle have a split level with the kitchen/dining room on the main floor.  You could always add onto the house (convert the garage?) or something like that.

I found this, which might help a little? It looks like really expensive makeovers, and basically adding a second level...  might help for some ideas though.

We have a split level that is pretty open. In regards to renovations we've been very careful to make sure everything flows well together. We have the option to take down a few walls to open it up even more but that's about it or major renovations. We'll be re-doing our bathroom and are currently renovating our closet so we have mroe space. My suggestion......do one project at a time. You have plenty of time so don't rush and overwhelm yourself.

    Good Luck!
