Michael Anthony's and The Embankment in Jersey City

Has anyone had their wedding or been to a wedding at either Michael Anthony's or The Embankment in Jersey City?
Or does anyone else have a suggestion for restaurants with private rooms in Jersey City/Hoboken that can accomodate up to 100?
We've also looked at Chart House, Maritime Parc, but they are out of our price range. We're trying to keep it under $100 per person.

Our wedding is at Michael Anthonys and so far we've had a good experience. Their wedding package can be confusing to figure out, but their coordinator Laura is great about answering questions.

I don't recall the prices, but there is also Masina in Weehawken. I think they have a private space.

Yeah - we saw Masina too. What I liked was that we could use their private room (that has a view of the city) for cocktails and then move to the hotel's ballroom for the reception.

I liked Michael Anthony's although I thought they would have more of a 'water view' from their private room. When are you getting married?

Check out The Pointe, which is by those condos near the Caven Point athletic complex. My BFF raves about this place, and my dad says it's good as well. I wanted to look into them for our wedding but we had more than 100 people, and it tops out at 100.

I would also look into Puccini's, which is pretty close to Journal Square. Rita and Joe's is also in that neighborhood and they have pretty good food.

Maybe also try Grand Banks, near Exchange Place? That's an Asian restaurant and you'd have neat decor inside and lots of opporunities nearby for great skyline photos. Parking sucks in that neighborhood, though, and there's no lot so you'd probably have to arrange for something.

There's also Casino in the Park, in Lincoln Park. It's not a fancy place and there are no "grounds" to speak of, but I've been there for several events and the food's always been tasty. I don't think they're priced more than $100pp.

Ten East in Bayonne might be able to accommodate everyone. Not sure on pricing, though, as it's a really trendy nightclub-type place.

Also try The Chandelier in Bayonne ... it's attached to a diner (although it has separate entrance and bathrooms, etc.) and there are NO outside grounds. But the inside is really pretty since it was redone under 10 years ago. A friend of mine was a bridesmaid for a wedding here and she said it was really great, and super-affordable. I've been to a few banquets there and the food and service are very good.

They just re-did the Knights of Columbus in Bayonne, so you could inquire there, but a friend of mine tried to book a bridal shower there and said it was too expensive for a shower.

Thank you so much for all the suggestions!

I did call Rita and Joe's but their private room would be too tight for our part. My future MIL did recommend Casino's but she hadn't been there in 10 years so I wasn't sure if it was still as she remembered.
I should go to Puccini's since it is just three blocks from where I am in Jersey City.

</div><div>Yeah that was definitely a bummer, but we fell in love with the "loft/brick wall" style of the space and couldn't pass it up. We are getting married November 12 of this year. </div>

Are you using the tables and chairs at the restaurant or are you renting ones? I remember Laura saying that it was an option - I had noticed that the pictures of weddings they sent had different ones. I was wondering how affordable the rentals were.

I live in Jersey City as well.
We go to The Pointe often.  Their sangria is fabulous and the calamari may be my favorite ever.  I have never been disappointed in a meal there.  You can't beat the view, however I can see parking being an issue.  There is a large lot down the road, but it would be a bit of a walk, so I would suggest shuttling people down.

Also Porto Leggero, in my opinion it's one of the best restaurants in JC, and I love the decor.  It would definitely be more pricy, but I would highly suggest checking it out.

<div>We are using their tables, but renting chairs from Alan's. The quote he gave me was for $7 a chair for the silver chiavari ones ($6.25 for the white). </div>

Thanks! I called Porto Leggero and they are a bit pricey - they started at $115. I forgot who I spoke to who said that I can't compromise quality, which I agree with, but that didn't include alcohol.
