Need free/cheap outdoor location in LA or OC!

I had picked a location, date, sent in the deposit... turns out what I thought was included during our walkthrough is all going to be additional. Beware of hidden fees! The casual walk through and casual contract were not clear and we are getting hit with additional rental fees.
We are trying to get out of our contract and get our deposit back if we can sell our date.
Does anyone know of cheap/free outdoor ceremony sites in LA or OC?
Garden/Park or Beach settings preferred.
:)

long beach museum of art has affordable option. It has indoor and outdoor venue, overlooking the ocean.

We may have to cancel the venue we already booked for a Saturday in August 2011. The venue is FantaSea Yachts - ceremony on one of their boats (and cocktail hour) and then the reception at the Club. They offered us an awesome deal for 125 guests (additional can be added); prem. bar (all night); custom wedding cake; buffet (with 3 options, not just 2); floral wholesale package included as well. Their package really includes a LOT.

We just looked at a private picnic area in Elysian Park, Montecillo de Politi (aka the Old Lodge.) $275 for 4 hours (plus a little for a park monitor). Tables and benches are there, so no rentals. You'll want tablecloths though, the tables were dirrrty. Also has a little amphitheater. It will take serious sprucing up (ie there was graffiti on one tree, could be sanded off) but it's dirt cheap. No booze allowed (that was our main gripe, but perhaps you can sneak some spiked lemonade or something.)

There's also a reserveable picnic site in Pt. Mugu state Park...
