I have also chosen to get Married in Fabulous Las Vegas!!!

Hello ladies!!Foot in mouth I thought it was time to introduce myself!  I have just been lurking lately...already you all have helped me so much!!  We actually chose our Ceremony location first and that was a couple months ago, but we havent done much else until now....  After researching many reviews, we have chosen Chapel of the flowers!!  I know it is a pretty popular lil chapel, but we wanted to save some costs as we just bough our first home together!!!  I maybe a newbie here or planning a DW wedding, but im not a newbie to Vegas!!  I have been quite a few times, so maybe i can help others as well with some sights and ideas!!
So far, I have been just collecting photos and ideas and then i found you guys...im so happy i found this forum its going to make planning this DW wedding so much easier and im planning from Canada...so even harder i think!

Im hoping to make a planning bio....but im really not sure how!  hopefully some of you can help me on getting started?  thanks ladies, look forward to planning with you all!!!Tongue out

Welcome to the Vegas Boards.  I suggest using weebly.com to build a bio. It's really easy to use and free.

Congrats and welcome!  Ditto on making a bio...  they do really keep you on top of things and in our case family members have enjoyed seeing it come together as well as appreciate having a way to be kept in the loop when we can't talk.

    Welcome and congrats!

Where are you planning to hold your reception?  Where in Canada do you live?

My FI lives in New Brunswick... it isn't ideal to plan a wedding long distance, but it definitely helps to have theknot! :)

Welcome! We were married at COF last year and had a great experience. We also spent a week in there and it was nice to have a few days both before and after the wedding to enjoy Vegas. Happy planning and keep us posted on your plans.

Thank you :)  Im in Central Canada....

and re the reception  we really arent sure what to do to be honest...we really want to have one, but b/c of just buying the house....We were thinking of having one back home after and having everyone come here and show pictures and video etc.... BUT i really would rather have one in VEGAS  i think it would feel really Odd if we didnt,  Im hoping you ladies might be able to help us with some cost effective ideas on how to make the reception happen....or if you think we could skip it, what can we fill the day with  ??

TIA......look forward to planning with you all........Laughing

If you're inviting people to Vegas to witness your wedding, then you most defiantly need to host some sort of reception. By having a weekday wedding, you already have a great start for saving money. Room mins tend to be lower and/or more flexible on weekdays b/c you have less people competing than on a Saturday night.
A lot of our suggests would depend on your guest count and budget, but offhand, the cheapest reception options tend to be either the buffets (many have private rooms) and doing an in-suite reception (provided you are getting a large suite) where you hire in your own catering.

Our reception will be very reasonable- what are your numbers like for guests? ( I'm in Calgary, Alberta)

Low as possible is not helpful.  For some people $3000 is low; for others it's $1500.

Detail is helpful.  Also what needs to be included in that budget-everything or just F&B?

I don't get married often, but when I do, I do it in Las Vegas.

Congrats!  Another Chapel of Flowers Bride here.  I am also from Ontario Canada. We couldn't have been happier with our chapel choice.  Agree with others, you really need to make a reception happen for your guests.  We had 24 guests and in my opinion it was the perfect size for a Vegas wedding :)  We had a blast.
