    Hi!  Hope everyone had a great 4th!  **changed my user name earlier today.

    Names of the Couple?  Alison & Aaron

    Wedding Date?  10/2/2010

    How old are you? Your FI?  We are old!! :)  both 37

    Occupations and dream occupations of the couple?  He works for a foam cutting company doing sales, support, etc.  I work for a healthcare IT company.

    How long have you been dating? 1.5 years

    Where did the you meet?  Thru a neighbor of mine, that happened to be a good friend of his.

    What was your first impression of your FI? Really nice, but couldn't understand him (he's not from the US orginially).

    Most exciting thing about wedding planning so far? Knowing many friends and family will be traveling from near and far to share in our day.  Also, my dress ;)

    Any wedding-related challenges yet?  Not too many, though we really...had a tough time picking invitations and didn't like the registery!!!

    Have you gotten the dress yet? If so, pic please! If not, post some that you like!  I did get my dress - weeks after we were engaged..will try to post some.

    Any favorite vendors yet?  Love the photographer (Ed Zeltser).

    Colors or theme?  Blue, Silver, Ivory & Yellow

    What are your top three wedding-related priorities? Make sure our guests have a great time, the weather holds and that we just have fun!

    Any children yet or furbabies?  No kids; we have one dog.

    Kids at wedding? Only niece/nephew and Godchild + her siblings.
    Where are you honeymooning?  California later this year.

    Favorite book? I actually don't read books all that much.. minimal attention span.

    Favorite movie?  The Hangover, The Green Mile and Office Space (sorry, more than one).

    Favorite tv show?  True Blood & The Office

    Favorite wedding dress designer?  Ties between Anne Barge, Reem Acra and Kenneth Pool.

    What is something you wish you could have at the wedding but don't?  Photo booth.

    Where is your FI from?

    I love the Green Mile (it is the only movie I have seen that followed the book it was based on to the word... even the dialogue is the same, well, until the last few chapters!)

    The registry is usually the guys' favorite part of wedding planning! What did you and your FI not like about it?

    My FI is Australian and came here as part of his job.

    The registery was just difficult - we have really different taste, but managed to get thru much of it. :)

    Megan - yes, the accent is great!  Did you find an officiant yet?

    My_Matt - California is the best.. would live there if possible. Think we're hitting LA first and then will head down to San Diego.  Where are you guys going?

    Thanks for sharing! Where did you register if you don't mind me asking? What didn't you like about it? Selecting items or the way the actual store registry worked? I'm not enjoying selecting invitations either. Were you happy with the ones you selected when all was said and done? Who did you use to design and print them?

    Eagles 347- we registered @ Crate/Barrel, Bed, Bath & Beyond + Macy's.

    The stores were (and have been) great..it's the process of deciding what we want, need, and can agree on ;).

    Invitations were thru Exclusively Weddings and their selection and prices were really good.    Who did you end up using for invitations?

    We are registering at Crate & Barrel and Macy's. I considered Bed, Bath, & Beyond, but its beginning to look like different versions of the same things at each store and we don't need a whole lot, so I'm probably going to stick with two. It is a lot more work than it seems...lol.

    As for invitations, I will look into Exclusively Weddings. I think I get catalogs from them. I haven't decided yet, but I do have a couple of meetings set up with local vendors.

    I booked our officiant yesterday! I also took my relationship inventory through the church last night... FI is going his on Monday. Then we will start our counseling soon. And then my mom and I ordered invitations from Vista Print last night :)

    Exclusively weddings has some really cute invites... I was also looking at getting mine from them. But from VP I got 50 invitations, printed front and back, matching envelopes, RSVP post cards, and 150 address labels that match everything, all for about $113.00!

    Eagles - let me know if you find invitations (I ordered a few samples) from Exclusively Weddings, as I think I have discount code (maybe 25% off good until some time this month).  GL with the meetings! 

    Ha, yes more than two stores does get to be a bit much, but BB&B had some items we did need that I couldn't find @ the other stores.

    Megan - that's awesome you found the officiant!  Great price on the invites too.  Vista Print has amazing prices!
