So we went to finish getting the items we really needed off our registry this past weekend. We left stuff on our registry for Christmas, but there was a ton of stuff we were holding out on that we needed and couldn't wait on.
So we went to BB&B first. Did okay there, got some stuff. The big debate was about the vacuum. Do we buy a less expensive one now, and wait to get the nice one for when we own the house (and then use one upstairs and one downstairs)? Or do we splurge now? The fight was between the Dyson DC24 and the Shark Navigator- we needed one that was light enough for me to lift, and these two were pretty much the only ones that fit. We couldn't make a decision, so we didn't buy and left to go to Macys.
We show up at Macys because they were having the 20% off anything for your registry completion program, instead of the usual 10%. THANK GOD I have email on my phone- the sales associate had no idea what I was talking about. She calls her manager- who also has no idea what I was talking about, and says read her the email. The girl reads the manager the email- who then says I will be right down to see it all. 20 minutes after we walk into the store, and I am frustrated beyond belief- it says in store and online in the email, how does their own employees not know whats going on?! The manager saw how frustrated we were, talks to other employees- who all knew about the sale- and apologizes to us. She then okays an extra 15% off for us in addition to the 20% off!!!! Talk about a deal! Add in that a ton of stuff was already on sale, well, we were in heaven.
We managed to get great deals- the Henckels knives, originally $150, for $65. And remember the vacuum fight? They had the vacuum on sale there- the Shark one. We managed to get the vacuum, orginally $230, for $120. HECK YES!!
Our total proves how awesome we did. We spent $520. We had $400 in GCs to Macys. Total out of pocket? $120. Total amount everything originally cost? $900.
Yes. That's right. We got $900 of stuff for $120.
It was a good weekend.
Now to find a place for all the CRAP we came home with...
