Need opinions- Bachelorette Party

Hi girls,

I'm a non-regular poster but constant lurker and I have a minor dilemma.  My bachelorette party was originally going to be a night of dinner and dancing in Philly, and then the majority of the people staying in a hotel (many out of towners).  Well, this weekend, I found out that 3 people that originally said they did not need a hotel actually plan on staying.  Now rooms are more expensive (original rooms booked months ago).  So it will end up costing everyone $70 to spend the night plus dinner, drinks, and parking.  I want everyone to have a good time and not thinking about how much everything is costing.  So, I thought we might go out in Conshy and do the same thing but at a hotel that will cost everyone $45/night.  Granted, Conshy is not the party spot that Olde City is but it would save everyone a bunch of money.  We are going to have 20 people so we'll end up bringing the party wherever we go.

So my question is, if your friend was having a bachelorette party, would you rather pay less and go to a less happening spot or pay more to be in the center of the action?

I adore Conshy, so I would rather go there and pay less for a friend's bachelorette. But, if you have a lot of out of towners, they may enjoy being in Philly and getting to see some of the city.

I would just send out an email to all your girl and ask for their preference.

Or stay in Conshy, but go out in Manayunk. It's more party-like in Manayunk, but you can still catch the last R2 train into Conshy (under 15 minute ride) and stay there for less.

I would prefer to be in the city. Can you just have the 3 add ons get their own room since they are last minute additions and keep the old rooms at the same cost for the girls who originally were supposed to be in them?

I wouldn't want the cost hiked up on me by people who decided last minute and also if I were the one asking to stay last minute I would understand if you didn't want to raise the price of everyone else for me.

This!  They decided late and this is the consequence, a higher room fee.

Where would YOU rather go? I think that is the most important question...
How many rooms do you already have booked? Can the 3 extra just spread out into the those rooms (if there are more than 1) and bring an airbed or something since they are late additions. That should even bring down the cost per person from what the out of towners were already planning on spending...
Personally, I would be happy at either place and would rather go wherever the bride wanted to be at. $25 isn't much of a difference in the grand scheme of things.

This.  I'd be pretty annoyed if the plans all got changed after I was looking forward to them or I had to pay more just because some people decided last minute.  And yea, I'd rather go out in the city, but then again, I don't really know those other areas.

You need to do what YOU want.  It's your bachelorette party!! I know I'd rather spend more money to make my friend happy then to spend less money and have her be upset. If you really don't care where it is, then tell every one that and let them figure it out.

Thanks everyone for the feedback.  I'm not sure where we'll end up.  I honestly don't care where we go, I just want it to be a blast.  I'm polling the bridesmaids and will decide after hearing some feedback from them.  Thanks for all of your feedback.  I definitely needed to hear both sides.
