Doorhangers!

We are having a destination wedding, and are making OOT bags for our guests.

I have seen a few things here and there that look like great ideas. I came across custom doorhangers (I looked on Etsy but I didn't see anything I really liked).  Does anyone know places that can make these/had them made before?

  • Like Do Not Disturb signs?
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • Yes, exactly.
  • How many of these are you looking at buying?  That sounds like a cute idea, but also an unnecessary expense, especially if you are having them custom made. It's not something I would ever need again, and won't the hotel have DND signs for the rooms?  I think I would use that money toward something else, like food and drink upgrades at the reception. You could always make your own if you really want them and can't find any. Hobby Lobby sells wooden ones.

I wish I could figure out how to post pictures.  I always get a message that the file is too large.

One of my daughter's BM's made adorable door hangers from her computer using cardstock.  Hanging on the doors as guests arrived, one side said, "Welcome to our Wedding".  "We are so glad you could make it this weekend to help us celebrate."  Love, Mary and John, followed by the wedding date.

On the flip side, the card read, "Please do no Disturb".  "We are still recovering from Mary and John's wedding!"  One of the pictures included a silhouette of a margarita glass, their signature drink.

If you are tech/computer savvy at all, I am sure you could do this from your own PC.  They are 11 by 4 1/2.  The top 3 1/2 inches were left blank of script, and only had the background colors and design.  Once printed, she traced a small circle (@2 1/2 inches) in the center of the blank space,  About 3 inches down from the top, a cut, angled upwards and toward the center, about 3 inches long, was cut.  This allowed the hanger to hang, as well as make it easy to cut out the traced circle.

They were very inexpensive to make, and adorable!  I hope you could make a little sense of my "tutorial".

ETA:  Just found this link while googling....perhaps it will help....this first example is more along the lines of  the way my daughter's were made......
