Body Pump & results

Hi ladies,

I am just starting body pump classes in hope to lose some weight and define some muscles. I am about 10 lbs away from my goal weight- but to be honest the weight doesn't matter, it is  more that I was to be happy with the results on my body.

I am doing body pump 3x a week for a whole body workout and doing cardio 3x, which I might change to yoga because although I do want to lose fat, I feel that cardio never gives me results where weight lifting does.

I am wondering your own personal results from body pump classes. I am typically a girl that prefers high weight, low reps, and this class is opposite. I tend to build muscle easy so I still hope to see definition and fat loss. What results did you guys get from body pump classes?

also, any weight programs you recommend?

Re: Body Pump & results

  • I did Body Pump for two years before I started lifting on my own.  It helped me lose weight and become much leaner looking.  I got the best results when I pushed myself to increase my weights as often as I could, I was usually lifting the most in the room, sometimes by quite a lot.

I now use The New Rules of Lifting books.

</div><div>I agree with this. If you do Body Pump consistently and increase your weight as you get stronger, then you def. get great results! Last year I did a challenge to take Pump 2x per week for 6 weeks and I saw a change in my body. Going to start going 2-3 times per week until my wedding =)</div>

  • Beachbody also just released a home version of Body Pump, called PUMP. I've heard awesome things... hoping to buy it soon. Smile http://www.teambeachbody.com/shop/-/shopping/LMPumpBase?referringRepId=127136
