Bridesmaid dresses---color quandry!

Hi all....this is my first post in the community.

My fiance and I are having an October wedding. We have a Celtic theme that we're unofficially calling our "Autumn in Ireland" wedding. We are having our celebration in a pub. We plan to decorate with a mix of floral that reflect both autumn (like willow branches, autumn leaves, wheat bundles, etc.). We are trying to play off of the Irish flag and make our colors a deep green and burnt orange.

I have two attendants, and I wanted ot put them in dark green dresses. However, one is blonde and I don't want to risk it looking horrible on her. Does anyone have any suggestions on other dress colors? (I'm thinking Champagne with a color accent).

I was wondering about brown. I guess my concern is that it will look too much like 70s fashion if we do sashes to tie in the colors. All I know is that I don't want to do the an orange dress! I think my girls would kill me if I even suggested it! I'll take champagne and chocolate brown to them and see what they like.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I would love to wear a burnt orange dress, but that's just me

You could try copper and see if they like that. It's close to orange, but more neutral.

I REALLY wanted to have a fall wedding and incorporate brown. I love brown! When I went to see my venue last month, they were setting up for an evening wedding and the colors with brown and champagne. You'd think that would be bland, but I was so very impressed with everything! Seriously, I think that was my 1st clue that it was the place even though I wont be using those colors! If I was to marry in the fall, which I'm not unfortunately, I would've chosen brown, champagne with a hint of apricot.

I am also a HUGE fan of green. I'd imagine you could also incorportae green in this scheme even if it is in the detail such as floral arrangement, linens, etc. No reason the dress HAS to incorporate all the colors.

Blondes can look stunning in the right shade of dark green. Don't rule it out.

I love your Irish theme. We too are having an Irish wedding (I was born there) but we are more so incorporating traditions. Our colors are purprle and green, but no one is wearing green (in Irish tradition oddly enough green is bad luck to wear on your wedding day).

And we are having our reception at an Irish pub as well. We had the wedding planned for St. Patricks Day (again in Irish lore one of the luckiest days to get married) but try booking a reception at an Irish pub, in Las Vegas, on St. Pattys Day! haha

A dark forest green that's more on the blue side than yellow side is flattering on most complexions, kind of like how burgundy is the 'more wearable' form of red.

Thanks so much for the heads up on the green/bad luck thing. I knew blue was good luck, but hadn't heard the bad luck superstition!

Thankfully, my girls both shot down the green idea. They are IN LOVE with the idea of wearing a dress in Persimmon. My maid of honor tried on this dress yesterday

My matron of honor isn't crazy about the idea of a sweetheart neckline, so she's hoping to find a dress in a v-neck.

Anyone have thoughts on girls in the same color but different styles?
