My FI and I were both raised Catholic, and though I've been better about attending in the last few years compared to him, I feel like he is more in tune with his faith than I am. Since we need to do our pre-cana, and want to have a Catholic wedding and raise our future family Catholic, we decided we were going to start going back to church.
So yesterday, after some back and forth, we both got dressed and he picked me up for church at a new parish we had never been to before. I'm trying really hard to be less hard-hearted and I think it was a really good first step. We both agreed after Mass that we really liked the priest, and were glad that we went.
I guess I just wanted to share that we finally did it, and went back to church. I know that we should have always kept going, but you have to start somewhere. I'm actually looking forward to starting our marriage preparation and getting to know each other better, while also going back to our roots and hopefully starting a new family tradition.
