Double A transportation in Rocky Hill

Anybody using them or have experiences?

They are the only company that offers trolleys in CT. I've spoke to them on the phone 3 times and the customer service is HORRIBLE! If I were to use them I already told my fiance they would be starting off with an automatic "B" on my knot review. He felt that was generous. LOL.

Not sure if others had a good experience and this is just a fluke?

I'm hoping they are a legit company since I really want a trolley. I'm starting to look into what Massachusetts can offer but it is going to be extremely expensive because of the extra travel.

LOL I live right near them and drive by everyday. Judging from the bus drivers they have I'm hoping you get what you want. I can't imagine they have people wanting their trolley all the time though right- so let's hope this is just a case of they aren't used to dealing with the public. Good luck and let us know how it turns out!

We are using them for the Trolley.  I have to admit I was and still am a little nervous about it.  But I made sure I got everything in writing.  When we went to meet with the guy, I think he forgot we had an appt and then we wanted to look at the trolley and it was locked...it really wasn't a good experience, but I figure they have been around for a really long time...so they have to be doing something right.  I know they also recently had a lay off but then merged with another company and now are completely understaffed.  But like I said I got everything in writing...and I plan on pretty much harassing them for the months and weeks leading up to the wedding to make sure we have everything set.  We live right down the street from the office so it isn't hard for us to stop in.  I also went to weddingwire and read some reviews and there wasn't anything that was out of the ordinary.

Megs- I called about 2 weeks ago for a quote. I also asked if I could take a look at the trolley with my fiance and if I would need an appointment. The sales rep said, "no, just give me a call before you leave your house so I can make sure the trolley is here." She didn't have the best phone manners but not the worse either.

I call this morning, spoke to the same sales rep, and I told her I was hoping to check them out. She, said, "well I need 24 hours, I don't think you can see today, um, I'm not even sure if they are here, ummm well one is here, but I'm going to need some time to get them ready, I want to make sure it's ready for viewing and nice and clean, umm give me your number and I'll call you back in a half hour. It might not be in this hour or the next that you can see it, I really need 24 hours."

Uhh okk! She kept going on about them not being ready for viewing and she needed them cleaned for me. I felt like asking if they don't keep their trolleys cleaned on a daily basis? It's a thursday..it's not like it's a monday and they were in use all weekend. Totally different tune then the first time I spoke to her! I would have called her yesterday had I known!

So after waiting an hour and a half (after she said she'd call me in 30 minutes) I called back and she said, "oh, they are both out until 8pm and I leave at 5" While she was talking to me and setting up a different time to see them she was YELLING at someone else in the office about picking up lunch!! She interrupted me and herself a few times to have a conversation with a guy name JOE! They are getting one more shot..and only because they are running a trolley monopoly!!

I did see them at a bridal show and the driver that does all the driving for the trolleys was super friendly, professional, and seemed like a really fun guy. I have his card if you want his name to make sure he'll be your driver. He was an older (probably retired) gentleman probably just keeping the job to stay active.

    EKK!

I didn't deal with them over the phone.  I set everything up over email and got the quote over email.  I was working with Tom.  Not gonna lie, the office probably isn't any better then the service you got (so if you go there be prepared)...it was a complete disaster but Tom kept telling me it was because of the layoffs and now merger...whatever.  FI was with me and we kept looking at each other...but we didn't really have any other choice.
Tom actually looked at me funny when I told him I wanted the girls to be picked up at the Inn and dropped off two blocks down the street at the church...sorry I don't feel like walking down the street in my dress...and what if it rains?
So yeah the sales reps really aren't good.  And I've met one of the drivers, so I'm just crossing my fingers this all goes according to plan.  We are also using them for guest shuttle service...FYI - for the trolley we were quoted $850.00.
I'd say I'd give you a review, but it looks like we are getting married just a couple weeks before you and that probably doesn't help.
I don't know, I honestly felt like I didn't have any other option...and I didn't want to spend thousands on a shuttle service and BP transportation...it's the only thing that would fit all of us comfortably besides a big party bus.

But when I asked my venue (St. Clements) who they reccommended...DoubleA was their first reccommendation...so they come highly reccommended despite their subpar customer service and sales...

The driver I met at a bridal fair was named Scott. He seemed like he had his head in the game. He said he does the driving for all the trolleys and he went on and on about how much fun he has doing it. He was a jolly man--had my mom and I smiling after being swarmed by overzealous bridal people all day.

I was quoted 950 for 4 hours. Traveling from Wallingford to New Haven. If I had to get two limos it would be the same-ish price..but not as comfortable as a ride. Plus, I just like the idea of a trolley- it's different!

OMG>..I've been searching for a trolley and was told no one in CT had them! (when i called one of the other bus companies....)

Thanks for the info, altough it does sound sketchy I had my heart set on a trolley! the quotes I got for Limos for the group were well over 1000 so I think the quotes you guys are mentioning sound pretty reasonable.

Thanks for the info, I'm going to give them a call or email...

Meg - even though they come highly recommended by Saint Clements (our venue as well), your several calls sound very sketchy! I would be worried not to be able to see the trolley. All these sites recommend seeing them and putting that specific car into the contract so you know what you're getting.

I found a couple sites, hope they help:
    http://trolleysbytes.com/

    http://www.charterbuslimousines.com/quote_select_vehicle.php - down page a little, starts @ 150/hr.

because it's so specialized, I wouldn't be surprised if certain MA companies are willing to travel. Might cost a bit more, but it's worth piece of mind..

I communicated thru email and was able to see the trolley.  So I've seen the vehicle that we will be using...I also had a chance to see the guest shuttle.  Despite their lack of customer service skills, I'm really not too concerned about them not showing up.  And from what I've heard the drivers are nice.  So that makes me happy.  Thanks for the concern though!
