    1) Do the leaves change colour where you are?
Yep, here in Ottawa they are a-changin!

    2) What was your favourite Halloween costume of all time?
Last year I dressed up in a pink furry dress with mitts, earmuffs and boots, dyed my hair black and had a little purse filled with Hershey kisses. Everytime someone would ask what I was, I would hand them a chocolate and say "Eskimo Kiss!" haha, it was a lot of fun.

    3) If you could dress up as one celebrity look-a-like, who would you go as?
A couple years ago I went as Nicole Ritchie

    4) Do you and your SO/FI/DH/FBD usually dress up separate or as a couple for Halloween?
I work in a bar so I always work on Halloween and he' usually stays at home and hands out candy

    5) Us Canadians have our Thanksgiving in 2 weeks, what's your favourite holiday recipe?
I LIVE for my grandmothers pumpkin pie.

    6) Have you started Christmas shopping? If not when will you start?
I usually start December 1st.  That's when the last minute sales start (and I don't have too many people to buy for)

    1) Do the leaves change colour where you are?
    Yes, but not until November/December

    2) What was your favourite Halloween costume of all time?
    Cinderella when I was 5?

    3) If you could dress up as one celebrity look-a-like, who would you go as?
I'm going to be Lady Gaga this year (and Katy Perry, too, but that's for a Halloween skit)

    4) Do you and your SO/FI/DH/FBD usually dress up separate or as a couple for Halloween
Separate. I've thought about it, but I feel like it's cheesy (in a nice way)

    5) Us Canadians have our Thanksgiving in 2 weeks, what's your favourite holiday recipe?
My mom's fruit salad with marshmallows. I have to ask her for the recipe.

    6) Have you started Christmas shopping? If not when will you start?
November. When I was younger, I used to say Christmas wasn't allowed to start until after my bday (Dec 9) but I'm loosened up.

Gotta run. My flight is preparing to land!

Yes, and it has begun! Hello fall, oh how I've missed you!

    2) What was your favourite Halloween costume of all time?
When I was young my aunt made my cousin and me a dalmation costume, it was awesome!

    3) If you could dress up as one celebrity look-a-like, who would you go as?
I want to dress as Lady Gaga, but I don't have the body :( haha (I'm jealous Leia!)

    1) Do the leaves change colour where you are?
No, and it makes me sad.  It's my first fall where it feels nothing like fall.  I've been drinking lots of Starbucks Caramel Apple Cider to make up for it.

    2) What was your favourite Halloween costume of all time?
My Mom sewed a Care Bears outfit for me when I was 3 years old.  It was the cutest thing - I came runner up in a costume contest and I bawled my eyes out for hours, I'm told.

    3) If you could dress up as one celebrity look-a-like, who would you go as?
I don't look like any celebrities, but if I was going to choose a celebrity costume, it would probably be Paris Hilton - I'd probably get confused for Rich Druggie Barbie, though.

    4) Do you and your SO/FI/DH/FBD usually dress up separate or as a couple for Halloween?
Oh heck no... we have no interest in matching costumes.  It's usually like pulling teeth to get him to put on a costume at all.

    5) Us Canadians have our Thanksgiving in 2 weeks, what's your favourite holiday recipe?
My boyfriend's cranberry sauce - so freaking good!

    6) Have you started Christmas shopping? If not when will you start?
Um, never?  Probably after Thanksgiving I'll pick up a few things and start some DIY projects.

    7) To all those who don't celebrate Christmas are there any upcoming traditions you are looking forward to?

In addition to Christmas there is the national holiday of my birthday.  We'll be going to a theme park for the weekend - maybe Disney, but possibly Universal!

    1) Do the leaves change colour where you are?
By FI's they have but not by me yet.

    2) What was your favourite Halloween costume of all time?
Probably my pink Power Ranger. Sadly, it poured rain that year and I got to wear a Mt. Vernon poncho over it. I was quite bummed

    3) If you could dress up as one celebrity look-a-like, who would you go as?
Snooki or Lady Gaga for the reasoning that it's a totally acceptable excuse for not wearing pants. I'd need to work on my butt a bit first.

    4) Do you and your SO/FI/DH/FBD usually dress up separate or as a couple for Halloween
We usually do a couples thing. This year, I wanted to be our HS principle and his wife.

    5) Us Canadians have our Thanksgiving in 2 weeks, what's your favourite holiday recipe?
    Pumpkin Rolls...yummm

    6) Have you started Christmas shopping? If not when will you start?
Last year I started in August, now I'll be lucky if I start by December. I hate shopping around here.

    1) Do the leaves change colour where you are?
Yes indeedy, the trees outside of my window at the office have already changed and lost their leaves.  We've had some really wonky weather.

    2) What was your favourite Halloween costume of all time?
I was a daisy in a flower pot when I was like, 7.  My mom made it and I still have it in a box in the basement.  Maybe if I have a little girl one day she can be a little flower too.

    3) If you could dress up as one celebrity look-a-like, who would you go as?
    Uhhhh...I have no idea.

    4) Do you and your SO/FI/DH/FBD usually dress up separate or as a couple for Halloween
Last year we didn't dress up because we didn't have anywhere to go.  This year we're planning to dress up as a couple.  I want to be Sheldon and Leonard.  He would be Sheldon because he's so much taller and I would be Leonard, but he's not ok with me dressing as a dude.  He wants to be Mr. and Mrs. Dog the Bounty Hunter.  I'm not so down with that.

    5) Us Canadians have our Thanksgiving in 2 weeks, what's your favourite holiday recipe?
Pupmkin pie, or pumpkin loaf, if I had to go with one I'd say the pie because you can put whipped cream on it, not so much with the bread.

    6) Have you started Christmas shopping? If not when will you start?
I haven't, I usually wait until after Thanksgiving.

    1) Do the leaves change colour where you are?
Yeppers. Just starting here, but I was 4 hours north last weekend and the majority of the trees had already changed.

    2) What was your favourite Halloween costume of all time?
I don't remember, but I think I made a pretty adorable pumpkin as a toddler. My Mom made the costume.

    3) If you could dress up as one celebrity look-a-like, who would you go as?
Perez Hilton. Haha OK I'm kidding, I don't really know, but he was the first to come to mind, and it could be pretty entertaining.

    4) Do you and your SO/FI/DH/FBD usually dress up separate or as a couple for Halloween?
Separate. We can never find something to do as a couple that doesn't make one of us feel totally retarded.

    5) Us Canadians have our Thanksgiving in 2 weeks, what's your favourite holiday recipe?
Hmm...can't say that I have one. I like it all!

    6) Have you started Christmas shopping? If not when will you start?
    Haven't started...probably won't until December...it's usually how I roll.

    1) Do the leaves change colour where you are?
Nope - we're in the desert, best we get is changing from dry green to completely dead

    2) What was your favourite Halloween costume of all time?
So hard to decide...didn't have a lot of money growing up, so my mom taught me to appreciate home-made costumes.  I was a yellow crayon one year, and old lady one year (that was fun - dusted my hair with flower), but the best was probably when I was 13, I went as an old man to my jr high party - my dad had this old man's mask and my mom had a silver short wig - I wore my dad's jeans (our legs were the same length - I got my height young) with a rope belt and his boots - I wore a flannel shirt of my own and my dad's cowboy hat...the costume was so good the female vice-principal followed me into the bathroom getting ready to yell at the boy going into the bathroom; as an adult, one of my favorite costumes was when I went as a smarty-pants (I pinned smarties candies all over my sweat pants)

    3) If you could dress up as one celebrity look-a-like, who would you go as?
Goofy - I bought the costume several years ago, but haven't worn it in recent years - just pulled it out and think I'll do that again this year

    4) Do you and your SO/FI/DH/FBD usually dress up separate or as a couple for Halloween
separate...FI has to work and I'll be passing out candy at my parent's house...FI works as a security guard, so he says he's going as a security guard for Halloween

    5) Us Canadians have our Thanksgiving in 2 weeks, what's your favourite holiday recipe?
My mom's pumpkin chiffon pie - I'm highly allergic to ginger, so I can only have home-made pie (made by someone who knows my allergy) - this is a creamy whipped pie with cool whip, vanilla pudding and such - way too good.  I also make my green stuff salad a lot (but FI doesn't like it, he's not a big sweets fan) - it's cool whip, pistachio pudding, pineapple and marshmallows

    6) Have you started Christmas shopping? If not when will you start?
In years past, when I've had "lots" of money, I'd be half done by now, but we're keeping it really simple this year - I've already got some done (shop the dollar store, etc all year long) and I'm doing some hand-made gifts, too (I have a cricket machine and I'm making FI's 4 year old niece personalized paper dolls).

Angie, it doesn't have to be just a budget reason to have a homemade costume!  My Mom always made our costumes, and I treasured every one.  My Mom still has most of them in the attic, and you wouldn't be able to say that about store-bought costumes (or at least no one would care). I have a Winnie-the-Pooh costume, a Care Bears costume (probably defunct, no kid in the future will understand it), a Crayola Crayon costume (sooo freaking cute), a Clown costume, and a few others that I will always treasure and hope to some day have my kids wear.

I find most store bought costumes really uncomfortable material and unflattering cuts, not to mention massively expensive, so I prefer to make my own anyway.  And I also don't want to dress like a wanna-be-hooker like all the adult costumes for women.  Sure, sexy is great, but not slutty.  I made my own Little Red Riding Hood cape last year, stitched it by hand, and a little basket that I used as a purse, and it was a huge hit!  Wore black boots, sewed myself a red skirt, and put a big black belt around my waist with a white shirt.  It looked FANTASTIC!  (I'll post pics later when I can get to Facebook - it's blocked at work).

    1) Do the leaves change color where you are? Yes, and dry up and fall off and make a mess.  But, it’s still gorgeous to watch.
    2) What was your favorite Halloween costume of all time? I was a pin up sailor girl last year and I loved that.  Halloween is the BEST! A year ago, I had a party and over 150 people came pretty much every person I ever went to school with showed up.  Unfortunately, now I can never find a party that tops this.  In fact it depressing me and my friends who hosted….nothing stacks up. Sad face.
    3) If you could dress up as one celebrity look-a-like, who would you go as? Britney Spears, there are just so many options.
    4) Do you and your SO/FI/DH/FBD usually dress up separate or as a couple for Halloween?  We are going as pirates this year.  He is growing his beard out (he is convinced this is necessary for a pirate) and I am working on my stealing booty skills.
    5) Us Canadians have our Thanksgiving in 2 weeks, what's your favorite holiday recipe? Sadly, it’s not thanksgiving at my house without orange Jello with mandarin oranges in it.  It’s not my favorite food during the holidays, but it’s not thanksgiving if it is missed.
    6) Have you started Christmas shopping? If not when will you start? Hahahah. No.  I start the week of, but luckily I have a small family

    1) Do the leaves change colour where you are?
Yes -- I noticed the tops of some that were changing on my way to work today.

    2) What was your favourite Halloween costume of all time?
Two years ago I went as Thingette 1 (like thing 1 from The Cat in the Hat, but a girl, hence the "ette" at the end), and my friend went as Thingette 2. We made our skirts from this shiny kinda hairy (?) red fabric we bought and wore red sweaters, gloves, tights, and slippers. Then we pinned a circle with "thingette 1/2" stenciled on in black marker and spray-colored our hair blue.  We looked pretty awesome, if I do say so myself.

    3) If you could dress up as one celebrity look-a-like, who would you go as?
I was thinking of going as Ke$ha this year. . . I hate her, but think it'd be fun to look super tragic and skanky like she does.  Also I've always thought  a Marilyn Monroe costume would be fun to do.

    4) Do you and your SO/FI/DH/FBD usually dress up separate or as a couple for Halloween
Last year we went as King Kandy and Queen Frostine (from Candyland), but we were in a group with 4 other Candyland characters. . . so not really a couple. This year he doesn't want to do couple costumes, which is ok I guess.

    5) Us Canadians have our Thanksgiving in 2 weeks, what's your favourite holiday recipe?
My grandmothers stuffing/dressing. When I was little she would have me help her break the stale bread into little pieces to make it.

    6) Have you started Christmas shopping? If not when will you start?
Hell no -- it is only October 1st!!  I'm a classic procrastinator anyway, so I probably won't start until the middle of December.

    1) Do the leaves change colour where you are?
Not really. Mostly we have pine trees and palm trees.

    2) What was your favourite Halloween costume of all time?
When I was Sailor Moon. It was cheesy and awesome and made by my mommy.

    3) If you could dress up as one celebrity look-a-like, who would you go as?
Ummm...me! (I'm not very good at paying attention to celebrities, so I can't even think of one :P)

    4) Do you and your SO/FI/DH/FBD usually dress up separate or as a couple for Halloween
Separate. Specifically, I dress up and he doesn't really. But! I DO dress up my dog (as seen below) and tehre's a very good chance we'll match this year (he has a devil costume this time)

    5) Us Canadians have our Thanksgiving in 2 weeks, what's your favourite holiday recipe?
Not Canadian, but pumpkin pie. Mmmmm.

    6) Have you started Christmas shopping? If not when will you start?
Nope, and probably won't til after Thanksgiving, if I can at all this year.

    1) Do the leaves change colour where you are? Some do and some don't I live in the Calif foothills so lots of oak trees that mostly just drop their leaves.
    2) What was your favourite Halloween costume of all time? I went as a cavewoman one year and I had a man-sized caveman prop that I bashed over the head with a giant bone and drug around by the hair. It was fabulous!
    3) If you could dress up as one celebrity look-a-like, who would you go as? Oh goodness. I actually look a lot like Drew Barrymore in the face, but in the body, more like Roseanne!
    4) Do you and your SO/FI/DH/FBD usually dress up separate or as a couple for Halloween? He works every Halloween at a casino and has to wear a uniform. I work at a preschool and we don't do holidays! If we did dress up, it would probably be separate.
    5) Us Canadians have our Thanksgiving in 2 weeks, what's your favourite holiday recipe? I make a fantastic herbed mashed potato/yam/sweet potato dish that is super yummy, healthy, and so savory you don't need any gravy!
    6) Have you started Christmas shopping? If not when will you start? I've already started. I sell Avon so I've bought some things at great insider prices and put them aside for stockings, etc. I try to get it all sorted and done early so I'm not wrapping gifts every night all December long!
    7) To all those who don't celebrate Christmas are there any upcoming traditions you are looking forward to? My woman's group also celebrates Yule . . . super fun!

    1) Do the leaves change colour where you are?
Nope.  Things pretty much stay the same year round.  Our high today was still like 105, so it definitely does not feel like fall yet.

    2) What was your favourite Halloween costume of all time?
Probably the genie costumes my mom made for us.  They were super adorable and I loved that our little genie hats...they were empty butter dishes covered in felt w/ribbon edging.  They probably cost about $10 a piece to make.

    3) If you could dress up as one celebrity look-a-like, who would you go as?
    Hmm...I have no idea

    4) Do you and your SO/FI/DH/FBD usually dress up separate or as a couple for Halloween
Last year we dressed up as Phantom of the Opera, because his brother had the costume from the previous year so it was cheap and easy on short notice.  This year I think he's going to go as Dexter and I'll be his victim :)

    5) Us Canadians have our Thanksgiving in 2 weeks, what's your favourite holiday recipe?
Pumpkin pie for sure.  Although I love that my favorite brewery here has pumpkin beer too, it's yummy.  FI and I actually went there tonight, but they don't start serving that beer till Monday :(

    6) Have you started Christmas shopping? If not when will you start?
Nope, I usually start looking for good deals in November, but don't seriously start shopping until December.  I don't have too many people to buy for so it doesn't take me that long.
