Is it OK to wear gold/champagne to a "black tie optional" wedding?

I purchased this dress for an upcoming "black tie optional" wedding because it was so classy and elegant looking, but now I am second-guessing myself! The color is listed as "gold" but from the pic it looks to be more of a champagne color. I don't want to create a fashion faux-pas, in case someone thinks it too closely resembles ivory.

Here is the link to the dress...what do you think? Should I keep it or look for a new dress? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

    That doesn't look even close to white/ivory - I think you're fine.
  • Thanks for the feedback. I ordered the dress online, but haven't received it yet. It's just hard to tell how light the dress is from the photo. I just wasn't sure whether others considered champagne to be "off-limits" for guests. I know when I got married last summer, I couldn't have cared less what guests wore, as long as they were comfortable, but some brides have stricter standards/rules. I just don't want to offend anyone! :)
