Entree Choices

My venue offers s pretty big selection of entrees: several different filets, fish (halibut, grouper, mahi-mahi, snapper, branzino, bass), severl different veals, lamb, duck, pork, and a few chicken dishes.

When reading through all of the descriptions, I've decided to go with one of the filets, one fish, and I'm stuck on the third option. To me, a veal sounds better than a traditional chicken dish, but would guests prefer a chicken choice?

I would have chicken as your third choice. I love veal but two beef options is a little much.

I agree! I have certain picky family members, a few who ONLY eat chicken so if I didn't have a chicken option they would go hungry!!! It's a safe choice but a good one.

Chicken is safer.  Do you know what your guests eat?  If it's a small wedding where you know all of your guests well, you might have an idea if there are people who need a particular option available to them.

If the veal sounds so great, would you consider swapping out the filet option instead?

Definitely offer a chicken meal. I know it's a safe option, but you'll have all your bases covered. Speaking from personal experience, I've found that people tend to be more picky in regards to beef/seafood than chicken. Also, I'm not sure if you've already addressed this, but try to offer a vegetarian meal as well. Even if you don't have any vegetarian guests, some of your guests might not feel like having seafood/chicken/beef.

Do the beef or veal and then offer a poultry (chicken or duck). Personally, if a guest can't find something in one of those three options to eat, that's their own fault. You're not responsible for catering towards picky eaters. Dietary restrictions yes, pickiness, no.

Thanks for the input. I'm going to talk to my parents about it, but I think we'll do a filet, fish, and chicken. I definitely want to try to make all of my guests happy.

chicken- I don't believe in eating veal

A lot of people either don't eat red meat or don't like fish, so I'd do a chicken choice as well.
