Paper flowers - opinions?

Hey ladies,

So someone in the DIY forum posted this link to make your own tissue flower paper centerpieces and it looked pretty simple so I decided to try it.  I tried two different cuts.  Thinking of using shorter vases than what's pictured (so people can see across the tables) and flameless candles, but I've never used them so I don't know if any heat that comes off them that might burn the paper. Opinions?  FI likes the shape of the blue one but the shininess of the silver one.  I like them both, but would like them shiny.  They're really easy to make.  Not sure why the 2nd and 3rd pics are showing up sideways either...

Ohh these look great!  I agree with your FH, I like the shape of the blue ones a little more, but they both are really pretty!

Way to go!  Were they hard?  Those look good!  I agree though, I like the blue ones just a little bit better.

What kind of paper did you use and where did you get it?

They weren't hard at all, you just have to be very patient or you'll rip the tissue paper!  I also suggest using a very sharp pair of scissors; mine weren't all that sharp and it made the ends look a little frayed.

AT, I used regular tissue paper that I found at Crafts2000, about 10 sheets per flower.  The paper I used for the silver flower was 20x26" and the blue was smaller (typical tissue paper).  It was easier to work with because there were less folds and it was a little larger.

Your flowers look great! I've been trying a bunch of different designs trying to see if there are any I want to use for my wedding in August...keeping the "real" flowers to a minimum (or maybe zero?)!
