Where does a girl have to go for rustic?

I just checked out the Bryn Du mansion. Online, I thought the fieldhouse would be a perfect, modern rustic feel, paired with pictures that could be taken on the mansion grounds but... it just wasn't for me.

I know that the homestead in Westerville has a very rustic barn, but I heard there is no alcohol allowed, and same with another venue that I can't remmeber starting with a D.

Anyone have any ideas?

The barn in UA is the Amelita Mirolo barn.  Not sure if it allows alcohol or not - it is a part of a public park.

Hey Hey!!! Amelita Mirolo Barn does allow alcohol, but only from 1 of their 5 approved caterers...not sure what your budget is, but it ended up being way overpriced for what we could swing...we've decided to have the ceremony there and the reception at my paren'ts church just based off of the fact that the church lets us serve our own alcohol.

You rent the barn at an hourly rate too---4 hour minimum on weekends!  It's pretty, right by a pond and there are 3 beautiful patios. Playground is also really close. Holds 140 for dinner, but can squeeze 160 if needed.  Michael Pollack, the building manager,  is super nice and really helpful!

There is also the Taylor Mansion in Columbus, I think near the Franklin Park Conservatory. It looks super pretty in pictures!! I also think Via Veccia is super pretty too!

I loooove the Taylor Mansion in pictures, but I was pretty disappointed when we visted.  The grounds were not well kept at all, and everything looked overgrown.

  • I am getting married at Jorgensen Farms near Westerville in the spring. It is a working organic farm and has sheep and cows and they grow herbs (they grow the mint Jeni's uses for their ice creams). It may be a little tooo rustic if you are wanting something like a mansion or fancy grounds. I love it becuase it is so real and it belongs to such a sweet family. And you can drink there!
