New mom and a wedding to get in shape for

Hey ladies, I am new to the know forums, and I have already found great posts. I am trying to lose weight for my wedding next year (plenty of time to get to my goal weight). However, I just had a baby last August, and am now a stay at home mom. Right before I got pregnant, I really wanted to buckle down and get in shape and lose a good 20 to 25 pounds, but then "surprise". I was not obese or overweight, just right at the cusp of a healthy weight. So then I put on thirty pounds during my pregnancy. Thankfully I lost most of it within the first two weeks after giving birth, but now I am stuck with 15 pounds more than before I was pregnant. I really want to get in shape and feel confident about my body (which has never been an easy thing for me). The winter has been rough on me, seeing I couldn't really go on walks with my little girl, and she pretty much comands all of my attention, so it is a rare occasion that I can really workout. Now that she is older, and the weather is becoming warmer I am hoping that I can start exercising more. But my biggest thing is my diet. I am not a very healthy eater, but I am trying to change that for the better. I am not looking to go on a diet, but to change my lifestyle in general. I have thirty five pounds to lose by October 2013, but I hope to do it muhc sooner. Wish me luck.

Try downloading an app for tracking your food on your smartphone (like MyFitnessPal) or joining the website if you don't have a smartphone - it will really help you understand what you're putting into your body.

Best of luck to you! Let us know how it goes!

I usually just lurk on this board, but I wanted to share my story!  After having my little girl in Aug 2010, I felt like I never had any time to focus on myself, or my body.  When she was about 7 months old I realized I needed to be able to keep up with her!  I started tracking my calorie intake on MFP, and found some people on the site to help keep me accountable.

I also started doing Jillian Michaels 30 day shred.  It's a quick [25 min] workout, that was easy to do during nap time.  I also walked when it was nice outside, and tried to eat as healthy as I could.  After a month I had dropped 15 pounds and lost tons of inches.  Now I do her ripped in 30 video, and mix it with others.

Definitely check out her videos!  They are perfect for stay at home mommies with no time to themselves :)
