Gift for a friend's wedding?

Our friends got married away.. REALLY informally..like they didnt even send out formal invites, they just told people they were getting married at "x location" on "x date" and if you wanted to come-then come! We could not afford to attend the wedding and didnt get an actual invite other than being told about it. They said they were going to have a bbq celebration when they got back for their friends who couldnt make it, therefore I was going to bring a gift then..but they never wound up having the party. So I havent gotten them anything yet..They also did not register for any gifts..suggestions on how to handle this? Do I get them something, and if I do..what? haha

  • You could always do a gift card to somewhere you think they'll like.  Lowes/Home Depot if they're doing home repairs, BB&B if they are just setting up house, etc.

  • First: you don't have to get them a gift at all.  They sound pretty informal, they are probably not even expecting one.

But, if you WANT to get them a gift, get them whatever you think they'll like that you want to give to them.  If that is a check, sure, go for it!  If that is a personalized wind chime, then get them that!  It is a gift and you know them best so give them whatever your heart tells you to.
