Do me a favor and take my favor poll?

I'm curious about what favors you all have decided upon...

I'm testing out our recipe this weekend. I read mixed reviews and I want to taste it myself. Plus FI didn't seem too excited about this idea, but maybe once he tastes it he'll be sold :) (I think he was worried it'd be too expensive--but I love the idea!)

That's a super cute idea!  My first instinct was, "Ice cream? Won't that melt?"  But I love the little kit! I would probably make 1/2 (no more than 2/3) the number of guests you have - not everyone will take one, and some will take one per couple or family.

We're doing Georgetown Cupcakes.  FI and I met in DC, and it's our little nod to DC (plus cherry blossom branches - fake - in a vase on the mantel).  He also used to buy them all the time for me whenever I was moody - I've been going there literally since the first week they opened, long before they got famous.  They opened a NYC store and they're about to open a Boston store.  We're going to order them through the Boson store.

We aren't doing favors. But I am doing a flip flop basket for the ladies so I feel like that's a favor for the women

  • My Fiance and I have opted to give back to the hospital where I underwent major life changing surgery just six months after we started dating.  In lieu of a specific favor we are making a donation to them in honor of our guests.  However, our place cards are little pieces of coral which our guests will be able to take home.

I wasn't going to give favors at first.   I ordered through eBay glass votives at .25 a piece but had to order 300.  The reception hall is dark even with the lights on, so I wanted candles everywhere.  I plan on using flameless candles which were the cheapest at Wal-mart.  Since I have far more votives than I need; the  difference was just enough to make them my favors. Instead of the flameless as favors, I found tea lights at Ikea and the ordered favor bags from China (eBay). The total  cost for my favors ended up being .56 each.  I also have a photobooth; I got a great deal through Groupon in my area.

We are having a candy buffet and a photobooth as favors. We have little plastic book mark slips for guests to put their photobooth slips in. :)

We using flipbooks which is basically a photobooth but we will hae photographers who take a bunch of photos that's then printed out on the spot into a flip book. My FI had a flipbook vendor at a work conference he went to and as soon as I saw the flipbook takeaway, I was hooked! Oh, you can also customize the flipbook cover.
  • I was originally going to do a food favor of some sort but I have decided to do something honoring my grandma who I was really close with. I wanted a way to honor her at the wedding so we decided to figure out what our budget was for favors and donate that to CaringBridge. It was a website that helped my family/friends stay connected while my grandma was sick. She past away last July so I thought of posting a big sign saying that we did that on behalf of our guest in loving memory of her. Hopefully our guests are ok with that!
  • We are doing hugs and kisses wrapped in tulle, we also have a signature shot and will get a personalized shot glass as well. But the ice cream idea is awesome!
