If I could Re-do My Engagement Pics I'd........

Okay ladies, e-pics are this Sunday! I'm excited, but I feel a little like I'm unprepared. If you could re-do your pictures, is there anything that you would do differently???

  • Looked in the mirror every now and again..you know, for touch ups, hair fly-aways....etc Shoot, as much kissing as we did, my gloss was NOT popping by the time it was over! LOL!

  • I would have actually thought the whole thing out better. Thought about the location, made more suggestions to the photographer for shots we wanted i.e. do more research about the shots I wanted, thought a bit more about our outfits (M1ssJ's pics had me thinking about this:-)). Went to the MAC counter and got my face smashed:-) I think it just depends on how much you want to invest in it and how much this all means to you. In the end, we got the one great pic I wanted for the Save the dates and I was using a groupon photographer, so it didn't cost me alot.

  • Try on outfit and make sure it is the way you need it to look like (My bra is showing in my formal photos...would have knew this if I had tried it on, sit down, etc.). Remember to pack undergarments you need for outfit changes.

Pack one extra outfit just in case you change your mind in the car there (LOL).

Maybe take a photo in the mirror of you in your outfit selections. It helped me select something different.

Pack all items FIs needs for his changes as well. Shoes, ties, etc. He forgot his dress shoes, as that was the only item he was suppose to pack, as I packed everything else! He wore gym shoes that were edited out.

Second the mirror and lipgloss to carry around on site. One of my pics, I have lipstick on my teeth (and the photographer did not tell me!!)

  • I really loved my engagement pics. I did plan out a lot of things but it rained and we had to go with the flow so trust your photog for guidance. Don't stress about things you can't change. If you can, ask a friend to accompany you to the session. My brother came to our e-session and he carried our bags with change of clothes, my touch up supplies etc. He ended up assisting the photog with a last minute prop. and it urned out great even though it wasn't planned. He also let me know if my hair and face needed a touch up (it was so humid I felt like I was melting).

-wear comfortable shoes if you have to walk to different locations.
-don't be afraid to ask you photog for a quick preview during the shoot to see what you look like. Ours showed us a few shots and I adjusted my hair, hat, dress, etc. accordingly. Good luck on your shoot and remember to have fun.

</div><div>This is me as well. I didn't like a lot of our pics. I think this just got kind of rushed in with everything else going on, so I didn't put enough thought into it.</div>

  • Thanks so much ladies! Keep those suggestions coming! I really want these pictures to come out great and my Type A personality has been in overdrive trying to prepare us for them. I've hired a MUA so that my face will look BEAT in these pics. lolz. I've planned our outfits, still in search of a 3rd option, and I have to get to Michael's today to get the materials I need to work on our props. I'm looking into different spots where we can actually take the pictures. I REALLY DO NOT want the ususal "walking on the beach" pictures.

I'm thinking of getting a parasol that will flow with the whole "Southern Sophistication" theme. Some props that I want to use: 1. A pitcher of sweet tea 2. Playing cards (We love us some spades!) 3. An ampersand

    What do you think?????
