Wedding Woes

Two rants

1) I am in the middle of a 2 hour teleconference/training session and it's all work-at-home people.  There's 2 or 3 people who WILL NOT mute themselves, so you hear all their snorting and snuffling.  Gross.

2) DH wants to go to the Veterans Day parade tomorrow downtown, but the kiddo's basketball practice may be moved up an hour and a half (from 2p to 12:30p), so it falls during DefConn's nap time.  I mentioned to DH that DefConn needs to nap and the timing not be the best for him to go to the parade.  He got pissy.  He's about to take DefConn with him to the parade so he can deal with his cranky ass.

  • What is so awesome about this parade?

FIL wants him to go with him to the parade.

I'm mostly irritated because DH is all, "DefConn doesn't need a nap!"  Uhm, yes he does.

I try to put him down any time we're home on the weekends and/or if we're somewhere he can be put down (my parents, IL's, my sister's house, etc).  He's a beast when he's tired and cranky.
  • Let him take him. I did that one time and now DH understands the importance of a nap after DS had a meltdown at 4 pm over a cup of milk.
  • Middle of day practice would annoy me. What's wrong with like 9AM on a Saturday? Middle of the day really breaks the day up, especially with a  little one who needs to nap.

I really understand the importance of naps. Without a nap, Baby A transforms from  a sweet boy into a little hellion. We don't skip naps around here.

  • I'm highly annoyed by the middle of the day practice. Highly.  It's fcking my whole Saturday.

That's also contributing to my annoyance with DH and him insisting he goes to the parade.
  • OH EM GEE and now someone who's techinically challenged has lost their way and now we're spending 5 min trying to get them back on track.
  • i am not shy when i have to tell people to use mute or stop blowing snot into the phone. those conference calls are a nightmare. it's like CSR's have no braincells when it comes to being in a meeting when you're on the phone.

i LOL'd at  "what's so great about this parade". i love the local VDay parade, but really it's a bunch of old dudes in uniform riding hummers and waving to the crowd. it's nice, and i like to see it when i can, but not something i'd risk losing his nap pver.

kid has nightmares when he doesn't get a proper nap. i am extremely inflexible when it comes to his sleep some days. i'll pay for it when the holidays roll around and he's out of control.
