Sunday/Mother's Day

Helloooooo! Hope all of our DFW mommies are having a Happy Mother's Day!!!

We're going out to dinner with my mom tonight but I still don't know what to get her. :(  I am not good at all with Mother's Day or Father's Day gifts.

Heading up to Plano this morning to FINALLY buy a can of paint to get this stupid wall painted and finished, then working on feverishly cleaning the apartment.  I went to Home Goods yesterday but didn't see anything that I just loved.  Might go to BBB and Michaels today to see if I can find a few new pictures to put on the wall and maybe some new pillows for the couch.  I'm trying to do a few things here and there so that it doesn't feel exactly the same to FI when he comes home.  I remember coming home myself and walking into my room and everything was exactly the way I had left it.  I don't know if I'm just really sensitive or what, but smells, lighting, and visual stuff always gives me flashbacks.  It was not a good thing for me that everything was exactly the same when I got home.  I just wish it was cheaper to redecorate because there's a lot more that I would have done!

  • I jst took a small hike at Arbor Hills my daughter has Senior pictures next Saturday and of coarse she nver decided where she wanted them done at. So Finally she made that decision and i can quit bugging her about it. I think I'm going to head to Michaels, I have a couple DIY ideas I want to look into.

And Happy Mother's Day to any of you Mom's!

  • The prom was last night and we're running a little better than normal the day after because we were in bed by midnight!!!!!  It was wonderful to sleep in until 8 this morning.  I cried when they played the first song ("Somewhere Only We Know" by Keane--I love that song!).

We're heading out to Mooyah's for lunch in a few and then to the grocery store.

There are only 13 days of school left.

<div>I wish I could hug this sentence.  =)  Do you guys get out on May 31?</div><div>
</div><div>I have a pretty busy day ahead -- I want to get most of my kitchen packed up tonight.  It's definitely the room that I unpacked more than I needed when I moved into this apartment, and now I'm wishing I'd left a lot of this stuff in storage.  I also may have to go by our storage unit again today... I got all our boxes, but couldn't find the metal bar for the wardrobe box.  It's pretty beat up, but I'd like to see if I can still use it before I go buy another one.</div><div>
    </div><div>And I am definitely NOT going to Jorg's for a third time.</div><div>
</div><div>Unless someone really wants to go.</div><div>
</div><div>Also, I stayed out way too late last night.</div>

  • Amanda,
Our last day with students is the 31st and our graduation is that afternoon.  The 1st is our work day but I will be done before that so it will kind of be a day for messing around really.
  • Finally picked out a paint color, except now I'm wondering if those that gave me advice on my FB post thought the first square wasn't a sample color.  When they said they liked "2" best, if they didn't include the sample color, then we were not on the same wavelength.  And now I'm second guessing myself.  STOP BEING SO INDECISIVE, AMY.

<div>The 1st is the last day for us.  We are technically supposed to have a workday on the 2nd, but it never happens.  Apparently it is this principal's custom to have a big dinner the last Friday, where we stay until around 6 or 7 and he feeds us and we all reflect.  The teachers who came from his old school say it was always lots of fun, but apparently he's catching lots of resistance (it sounds like it's only coming from one person, who is very "You can't tell me what to do.")  I am only sad because it would mean I couldn't leave Friday afternoon for OK, but I am starting to think I might not leave until that Saturday anyway.</div>

  • Happy Mother's Day to all the DFW mommies! :-)

angelsong - can you paint part of the wall and make a decision tomorrow? maybe if you sleep on it you'll feel better about your choice

My sis and I bought my mom a gift card to best buy so she can get an IPad, I hid the gift card in her newspaper and she STILL hasn't found it!! The suspense is killing me lol Other than that it's a lazy Sunday for me.

<div>I would be completely okay with that if it meant that I didn't have to come the next day.  Since I have to go to graduation in Arlington on the 31st and then drive home to Denton (and try to make a friend's grandson's graduation dinner), I will not be in until about 9 AM the next morning or so. </div>
