Intro & South Ferry Church question

Hi!  I've lurked a little bit on this board and are hoping someone can help me out!  I'm getting married next May at The Towers.  I recently decided that getting married in a church is a little more important than I had originally thought.  When we were looking at The Towers a few months ago, we drove by the South Ferry Church.  I've called the contact there (K.C.) twice without a response back.  Does anyone have another contact there or had this experience?  Thanks so much!!

She is the contact and she can be a little difficult to get hold of, but she will respond. She also runs West Bay Gourmet catering. Are you looking for more info about the building; is there anything we can help with in the meantime?

I'm getting married at South Ferry with a reception at the Towers in August if you have any questions... KC can be a little disorganized (she accidentally double booked our ceremony but got it all straightened out) and tough to get ahold of, but keep trying. The church is beautiful and totally worth it. It's a nice compromise if you want to be married in a church without the rules of a certain denomination.

I'm getting married at South Ferry as well.
Next August. I am a little worried about double bookins etc.
I find its best to call her at West Bay Gourmet and try to get her through there- rather than through her cell number.

Also, once you send in the contract, be prepared to wait a while for the check to be cashed- apparently KC has to send it up to Boston before they cash it.. which is kind of annoying- but worth it. the church is sooo adorable.

Thanks everyone!  I called again this morning and she called me back and left a message. Our date is available - yay!  For those of you who have officiants already, do you have any recommendations?  We live in NC now (used to live in RI, but didn't have a church we went to regularly) so meeting officiants is on my to do list for our next visit up.  I2012do - since you're at the towers too, how are you timing your events?  Part of the reason I decided to look into South Ferry is that doing the ceremony/cocktail hour and reception all at the towers wouldn't allow for us to enjoy our cocktail hour and we would have to rush with pictures after the ceremony since I don't want to do a first look.

Ocean- I also want to attend the cocktail hr. Especially because the Towers has a shorter reception time.

You can email me for more information at JCorvese at gmail dot com.

We are still up in the air for our timing, but we are thinking of doing a 3:30 ceremony and a 6:00 cocktail hour. We figured it like this:

    3:30-4:00ceremony
4:00-4:30- receiving line/talking outside church, etc
    4:30-6:00- photos

We are doing photos at the bridge that is near Narrow river and also at the Bird Scantuary (its half way between the South Ferry Church- and the Towers)

And also some around the streets near the Towers

I figured we might even be done with photos before 6:00  but that gives me some time to go upstairs, freshen up,and come back down for the cocktail hr (i"m doing it outside). Plus I can take a peak at the room as well without anyone in it.

Mrs Mc irish was a towers bride, and I always loved the photo her and her hubby got int he room, just the two of them, untouched before anyone else arrived...

Email me if you need more info on the Church or anything else.

Also, I sent in my deposit like um... 5 weeks ago and its still not cashed. So just keep it in mind. Every week I check my checking account I'm like "Score I saved 500 bucks this week!" then I remember its "pending" to them

Also want to mention that our plan for guests from 4:30 to 6 is that they can go to almalfi and have a drink or CGH.. or can go back to the hotel/freshen up... or just walk around the pier for a bit :)

We're using Victoria Burdick... she's a sweetheart and a little off the wall but in a good way, which is perfect for us. She officiated for a few people that I work with and they all raved about her.

We're tentatively scheduled to have our ceremony at 4 and the cocktail hour at 530. We're going to try to take as many pictures as possible before the ceremony without us seeing each other, so the boys and my fiances parents will take pictures at the church before the ceremony and the girls and I will take our pictures somewhere else. Then after the ceremony we will take pictures with everyone together, and then DH and I will go somewhere else by ourselves to take pictures while the WP goes to the cocktail hour.

I'm hoping this works because there's another wedding at the church at 530. Thankfully the other bride she accidentally booked for my day was for after our ceremony, but I still feel a little crunched for time.
