Bridal Shower with only Honeymoon Registry listed on invite

I got a shower invite in the mail yesterday from the MOH of a friend.  My friend is only registered with a Honeymoon registry, and the MOH listed it on the invite.

So, I'm trying to think up gifts I could buy to go along with what I "buy" on the website, and I would LOVE your help.

Here are things that are on the registry that are within my price range, please give me ideas of smaller items to buy and give the Bride with the printed notice of what I bought her on her registry, so I don't just click a button on the computer screen for her gift:
(fyi:  the registry is for their Spain Honeymoon)

Food Tour - Whether it be at a corner bakery, neighborhood tapas establishment or quick bite at a market, we can't wait to indulge in the unique flavors and culinary specialties of Spain.

Cafe Stops and People Watching - We will be taking several breaks at bars and cafes along the way because J gets very cranky when she doesn't eat.

Guidebooks and Maps - Wait, where are we? We'll need guidebooks and maps so we don't end up in the red light district or France.

A Camera - What better way to document our awesome honeymoon?

Music - Help us score some tunes to listen to during our travels. Anyone who has ever been seated next to "a talker" knows how wonderful this gift would be!

Wine Tour - Because left to our own devices, it would probably come from a box.

Any ideas?????  I'm thinking gift basket-y stuff included with a print-off of the online purchase would be the best way to have a present to give her at the shower.  But I'm open to any and all other ideas!

Maybe a wine tour with a few of your favorite wines, cheese, grapes, and crackers? Don't HM registries take part of the money though?

If they do you might give her cash/check for her wine tour. With the gift basket.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they do.  For the wedding we were planning on writing them a check.  Would a check and a gift basket/ modge podge of similar themed gifts be tacky for a Shower?

[QUOTE]My opinion - a gift basket and check is even better than a gift basket and a print out, because it shows you've put enough thought into the situation that you're trying to maximize the benefit of the gift you're giving your friend.  I love the idea of a wine and cheese gift basket - a few glasses, some cheese, a cute little cheese knife set, and a bottle of inexpensive wine would be a great compliment to your cash gift!

Thank you!  This whole "Honeymoon Registry only" thing has made my Shower gift buying a little difficult.  I think the check with the activity written in the note section with a few related trinkets is the way to go!

I agree with this... the only downside is it wouldn't get checked off, so someone might get them the same thing....

I only had a honeymoon registry.........but people got me regular type gifts for  my shower. The one gift I got at my shower that I loved was a costco sized pack of sunscreen! ......however, I don't know if that works for Spain.

I also got wine glasses, towels, kitchen stuff, etc.

Personally, things that I could "use" on the honeymoon is what I would have preferred....like the sunscreen. Not sure what you might use on a Spain honeymoon....but yah. Or I would have just preferred people used that extra money for the registry.

OOO, edit: You could just buy them a guidebook?

Also, our registry just gave us cash...not actually that "gift" you paid for. So if you still bought the guidebook on the registry but also gifted a "real" guidebook, it wouldn't matter. It all goes into the honeymoon fund.

ugh I'm so glad I haven't had to deal with this whole HM registry thing yet... I just don't like it it's weird...

I like the idea of a basket with things like
    guide book
his/her towels (if they go tot he beach, I doubt they will want to/ be allowed to bring the hotels towels)
spanish wine (I have a bunch that's legit since fi flies there all the time, if you want a coupel reccomendations ;) .. or to come steal one.. because we have to much.. he's a total wine-o )
sunscreen (it stays warm through oct)
    aloe vera lotion
maybe if you can find some fun shampoo/soaps from spain in the area?

I don't think a check and basket will be tacky.. who doesn't like a check? seriously... :P

What a cute idea! My husband and I did a honeymoon registry with www.honeymoonpixie.com, and we had a couple of guests do something creative like that. Maybe a new set of headphones to go with the music? Or if they're really eco-friendly, you could find some cool travel mugs that they could take in to the cafes?

"Personally, things that I could "use" on the honeymoon is what I would have preferred...You could just buy them a guidebook?"

Ooh, I think a guidebook is such a great idea, or maybe some of those fun pop-out maps that fold down to fit in your pocket but then expand out when you open them (I used this one all the time when I went to NYC: http://www.amazon.com/Specialty-Map-New-York-Popout/dp/1841393908).

My fiancee and I are planning to do a regular registry plus a honemoon registry and I think we'd love something like that!
