I'm thinking of totally skipping programs. I'm starting to get stressed with finishing off weddng things. I've put off making programs because the idea bothers me. It's just a little piece of paper that won't even make it to the reception. I feel like I should do them to have directions from the ceremony to reception. But, then I think well there weren't directions for any of the pre-wedding gatherings and people found their way.
Now that it's over and done, do you think programs are something I can just skip?
Re: Question for the Married Ladies
Hee, I felt the same way you do about menus!

If there isn't anything special to your service like that, then I think you're probably okay.
[QUOTE]I did them because we were having a Catholic mass and some of our guests weren't Catholic. If there isn't anything special to your service like that, then I think you're probably okay.

Ditto. I wouldn't worry about it if you are having a short, straight-to-the-point ceremony. Mine took HOURS to make.
As a guest, I like to know what to expect as well as who is who...etc. I also think it is important to give thanks and credit to your families and friends who have helped you along the way.
It doesn't have to be anything elaborate... just informational. Also, you don't have to make one for each guest... you can make half that many because couples can share.

I agree with Tiffany - as a guest, I like to know all of the connections as well. I will enjoy the wedding just as much without a program, but I think that it's just something that people need.
