Why do people think that if they tell you they are coming... they DON'T have to send back their RSVP's? I don't understand. I've had a few people say they are coming and to count them in. Umm... So if you know you are coming send me back the DARN RSVP card! It's stamped and has our address on it. Pls tell me what the HECK is so hard about filling it out and throwing it in the mail box????????!!!!!!!

Hahaha. I agree! I KNOW that FI dad and stepmom have their RSVP just hanging on their fridge. Its stamped! Just put your name on it and drop it in the mail!

I've learned through this process that people just suck at RSVP-ing unless they are the ones who get it sent out right away. lol

We couldn't afford traditional RSVPs so we just enclosed a card that says to let us know if you will be attending by Oct 1st and includes our phone numbers and my email. Ill prob have to end up calling most people to find out.

Maybe they're waiting a bit to send back the RSVP? There's still 7 weeks until your RSVPs are due back (if your countdown is right). I know I usually tell my friends when I get their invitations whether or not I can go, but then I tend to procrastinate on sending the physical RSVP back, because it's just not on my radar until closer to the date. Take a deep breath and relax - there is plenty of time!

I'm with you! I couldnt see spending an extra 100 on stamping them and having maybe 20 people send theirs back. So I put rsvp by Oct 1 and my number and email.

I admit, when we finally mail ours out - I am worried FI will receive correspondence and forget to tell me! Frustrating - is anyone "padding" their numbers to make sure their final count has no surprises?

It is frustrating! Some people have no concept of etiquette whatsoever. We're having a small wedding and most of the people on my side of the guest list are active participants in the preparations/ceremony so they better show up! LOL. I know I'm going to have problems with FI's side of the guest list--people flaking out at last minute, not RSVPing, etc. If that happens, I would like to invite some more people (but not go over our venue's strict 25 max. capacity limit) but I also want to do it in a way that doesn't make it seem like I have an A/B guest list.

I actually had this conversation with my caterer yesterday. She said that she had one customer who had to call 300 people because noone was responding at all. But yeah, if you do everything short of check yes or no and put their name on the card, I can't figure out why it's so hard!
