Stupid Dress WWYD

Here's the lowdown: We are not doing a first look because FI and I agree that we want that first look to be when I walk down the aisle. FI has seen my dress online on a model but not on me. It looks vastly different on me. I am picking up the dress on Saturday. Where do I store it? 

I could put it at my house and wrap a sheet around the bag so he can't see it, or not and let him see it as long as it isn't on me.

I could ask a friend to store it at their houses, but choice #1 & 2 have no room and several cats, and #3 has no room and 2 kids, 3yo and 10mo. Either way it would have to be at my house long enough for me to transport it to one of them.

WWYD? Let him see it, or risk a cat or kid attack while inconveniencing my friends?

    If he's already seen in online, I don't see a problem with storing it at your house, unless you or he really feels strongly about it.

    Well, mine came in an opaque bag with a small window at the top, so I just left it  in there while he was here. Maybe ask and see if they have one of those? I would never leave my dress at someone else's house. If anything happened to it I'd freak.

    If he has already seen it online then what is the difference? If you dont want him to see it in person just tell him not to look at it and trust that he wont peek!

    Thanks ladies. I think I'll just bring it home and not make a big deal about it if he sees it. The bag they have it in at the dress shop is transparent, so that's where the worry came in. 

    I stored a dress for a friend of mine for a couple weeks, but I didn't have kids or pets, and was living alone so I had some room. Storing it somewhere else just makes logistics that much more complicated on the day of.

    Ok. now I'm good. back to your regularly scheduled programming.

    If the bag is transparent like you said, maybe just wrap a sheet around it and put it in the closet. If he's like my DH, he teased me that he would peek in the closet, but he wanted that moment just as much as I did. So I wouldnt worry about it being in the house. And you are getting so close!

    I agree with KD.  If you don't want him to see it, ask him not to look.  He should respect your request.

    And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now.     I stored mine at home with the transparent garment bag wrapped in a sheet for about 10 months.  H never looked.

    Just bring it in when he isnt home and stick it in a spare closet and dont tell him its there.

    My dress is being stored at my FBIL and SIL house.  He is my FI's brother and they are both in wedding. Plus she is my BF so I trust her with it.
