We used WM Hometown Market Catering - the owners of the catering facility used to own The Wayne Manor before the building was sold. They were excellent! They stayed within our budget, had a ton of food options and they even followed all the silly rules that our banquet hall required. I would recommend them if you're trying to get a great deal on food for much less than those large reception halls charge!

Here's their link (hope it helps!):

The Brownstone in Paterson did the catering for my offsite wedding in 2008.  The food was fantastic across the board and the staff was very professional and nice.  It was pricey but so worth it.

I dont know where you are, but I will be using a local pizzaria that has great food at great prices! They are doing it for $8.50 head... yes thats right! That includes a chicken, 2 pastas, eggplant, salad, and bread! It was only $1 more for a steak too, but not that many people in my party would eat it so I didnt get it. O, and that included the delivery, set up, nice chafing dishes (the round silver nice ones), and someone to tend the buffet all night!
