Let's Talk About Pre-Wedding "Beauty"

Is anyone changing their beauty regiment now that we are closer to the wedding? If so, what are you changing and what is the outcome you are looking for?

One thing I just started to do is take better care of my nails/cuticles. I'm hoping to begin regularly using my Burt's Bees Cuticle Cream and I have this cuticle oil that I should begin rubbing into my fingers regularly. I get a lot of hangnails and while I'll be having my nails done prior to the wedding, I'm not getting fake nails put on. I want my hands to look their best.

I also really want to begin just lifting some 5lbs weights every day, doing different exercises to try to tone out my arms a bit. I sometimes get on those kicks, but they rarely last. Smile

  • I have been using a teeth whitener thing, and plan to start tanning here soon. We don't get much sun here, and I would like to not perfectly match my dress lol. I'm also using different scrubs on my arms and shoulders. I have excema, so I have these tiny bumps, but they go away when its warmer out and I scrub em. So I've started that. I've been working out since before we got engaged. That's not new stuff, but something I'm still doing.

  • I've been giving myself a facial 2x weekly; it's making a big difference. Now my skin has a glow and it isn't oily.

  • I haven't made any drastic changes. I've just been trying to take better care of my hair and skin. I haven't curled or flat ironed my hair much lately and I've been much better about exfoliating and always using lotion. For my nails, I have OPI Avoplex. It's a nail & cuticle replenishing oil that I've been using more regularly. It's really helped my hangnails!

I'm trying to get back into using some 5 lb weights some too. I was really good about it for a few months, but I've slacked off the last few weeks.
  • i have wanted to whiten my teeth for a long time and recently got molds made at the dentist. so i've started that. i have also tried to be better about my cuticles and my nails lately because, like Julie, i am getting a more natural looking manicure done. and i'm working out about 3-4 times a week, but that's nothing new. and i was stoked that at my last dress fitting i was happy with how i looked in my dress and decided i would be fine if i didn't lose or tone anymore (but i'd still like to).

  • I want to take better care of my nails. I want a French shellac manicure and right now my nails keep breaking. I also want to whiten my teeth some more. I used to drink so much coffee.

  • I have started using light weights to tone up my arms too. I also started indoor tanning about a month ago and already look much tanner (not fake tan looking). I started using the Crest 3D whitening toothpast 3X a day a few days ago. I took before pictures and if they arent as white as id like I am just going to get them whitened at the spa. Ive also been using a nail strengthener because I dont want to have fake nails either. I should get that cuticle oil! :)

  • I'm not really changing stuff but I'm just making sure I actually take care of my skin more and completely wash my face daily (instead of just removing the foundation I wear).

  • i've been exfoliating my face and bod 3x a week and i definitely see a clear difference. And I got laser hair removal. Best investment ever!
  • Please think about tanning before you do any more...I am only 28 and I've had to have precancerous growths cut off my face and arms. All the tanning I did in high school was definitely a culprit. Skin cancer is scary!

I've been whitening my teeth and trying to be better about exfoliating and using lotions.

  • Hi! Make sure to exfoliate your skin also! You can use a scrub a couple times a week. This will help to unclog your pores, and actually make your skin glow!! If you are in need of an excellent makeup artist, please visit www.facesbykaren.com
    Thank you!

[QUOTE] So (and this will make you laugh) I have been trying to make good use of my time in the stand up tanning booth and have been doing 12 minutes of squats in there as well as in the shower while washing my hair and such lol. When I say I'm pressed for time I really mean it! I get up at 5am start my day - long work day- and go to bed between 11pm and 1am.

I do plies (can't figure out the accent thing) while I brush my teeth and apply moisturizer and all that jazz at night! Sometimes I also do the chair position in yoga at my desk by hovering over my chair for a bit. Every little bit helps!
