What do your BM dresses look like?

We are debating on matching dresses or possibly different styles but the same color. I have two MOH's and two BM's. The only thing that may be an issue is if three of the four like a dress and one likes a different one. I would prefer two and two or each have a different style. What are you ladies doing?

Re: What do your BM dresses look like?

  • I have 4 bridesmaids and they all chose different dresses -with the same fabric and color. They look great.

  • I have 2 nieces who will wear the same color but we wanted a little different styles since they are different ages 17 and 23 and suit their personalities. My sister is my MOH and she will have a darker version of my color, and also a different style hers is a 2 piece that suits her body type and age better than what the girls are wearing and she is 46.
  • All different styles, and different shades and textures of gold.  Just had to be cocktail to knee length and not strapless
    8/12 March Siggy- reception venue!

  • All of my dresses are exactly the same. they were $140 which all my girls were comfortable paying and they all loved the dress I really liked so I went with it! the dress is my siggy although i didn't think about taking the picture until after it was off so it's kind of hard to tell how it would fit. I have very different sized girls to and it looked adorable on all of them!  All the girls are getting to choose their own shoes however as long as they are silver and closed toed. my two younger girls really wanted heels and my older girls were like "no no do flats" so I said get whatever you want! lol. I will also let them do as they would like with their hair and nail and stuff as well. I think as a bridesmaid gift I am going to get necklaces for them to wear as well so they will have those to.

  • I was planning on having everyone in different dresses (but same color/length/fabric), but then when we went to the store to try them on, everyone ended up liking the same dress, so now the girls are all wearing the same thing.

  • I was open to both my MOH and BM wearing different dresses as long as they were the same fabric, but they ended up liking the same dress, so even better! Pic in my siggy :)

  • I will have a MOH and 2 bridesmaids. I selected 5 dresses that I liked and their favorites are in my siggy below. They are all the same fabric, but we might even do different shades of purple (because that is how our colors are anyway). It's still possible that 2 will select one dress and 1 will select another, but I'm not going to worry about it.
  • My girls are all wearing the same dresses but by their choice.  I gave them six different options just all in the same color.  It turned out they all liked the same one so that was that.  The color is tangerine and I think they are all going to look amazing.  Here they are trying them to make sure they liked them as much in person as they did online.  They are going to be perfect for a beach wedding.

  • I have two MOHs and 3 BMs. We haven't selected specific dresses yet, but I would like them to wear cocktail length dresses in various shades of purple. I prefer a fabric that is not satin-like and will request that they wear grey shoes.
  • I brought three out of my four BM's to try dresses on and they decided on the one in my siggy! :)

<div>Jennie, the dress your girls chose was my girls' second favorite!  It looked really pretty on all of them, but they ended up picking a dress with straps because the bustier girls were happier in straps.  Love that dress though!</div>

  • MY girls are all different shapes and sizes so we're going to do a convertible dress

  • I choose the color, length, and fabric (satin) but they were allowed to choose any dress from David's that fit that.  6 of my 7 have chosen theirs so far, and 3 so far have the same.  I still havent decided what shoe color for them, but I am thinking black heels.

</div><div>It sounds like we are doing almost exactly the same thing!  My girls are all wearing the same dress, which cost paid $135; although they have very different body types it looks great on all of them.  As long as their shoes are silver or tan (I haven't decided yet), they can choose whatever style they like. Whether or not they want to get their hair and make-up done is also up to them.  I will also be giving everyone a necklace as a gift so jewelry will match.

Hey wilcoxin2012- where did you find a convertible dress? That would be perfect for my girls. Thanks!

  • All my gals were insistent that they wear matching dresses. Every crowd is different. My opinion? Just give them guidelines and let them pick what they want. Don't let the drama llamas pop out for BM dresses. That's just silly.
  • They are all wearing the one in my siggy, but each will be a different color. The fuchsia pictured, mango orange, lemon yellow, and apple green. I choose them keeping in mind that one or more BMs could be pregnant. Turns out two of the 4 are going to be HUGELY pregnant (like 8+ months), so it worked out well! lol

<div>i have 2 MOHs and 2 BMs too.  There are 2 dresses that they like but i'm leaning towards 1 of the 2 but dont want one of my BMs to feel uncomfortable in it as she likes the other one better.  I dont want her to be the only one wearing a different style bc she's not one of the MOHs, so i'm not sure what to do yet.  </div>
