Cupcakes instead of Wedding Cake

Anyone have any recommendation for cupcakes in the Toledo area?

Cake in a Cup!!! They are a little pricey BUT I guarantee that once you eat one, you will be hooked!! Their cupcakes are so beautiful that it took a bit for me to even eat one. I didn't want to mess it up!  And that's saying something, considering I LOVE cupcakes! They might offer a discount if you buy a large amount? Their flavors are amazing. Nothing but good things to say about this place! You should check them out!

I checked with Cake in a Cup. I have had them before and I agree with their taste, but I was really disappointed that they already had the flavors picked for Saturdays in November and it didn't seem like I could get anything other than those flavors. I'm still waiting to hear from the owners, so hopefully what the girl told me on the phone is wrong.

We went to cake in a cup to check them out too because we are also doing cupcakes. Its true though, they do pick the flavors in advance, so you have to pick from those ones. Plus they were expensive, so thats why we're going with wixeys.

I wanted to do Cake in a Cup for our wedding cupcakes, but their customer service is, to be polite, a little lacking. Basically once they heard I was looking to buy cupcakes for a wedding, they didn't call me back (after 3 messages). I was going to place a large order too--around 300. Their loss!

We are going with Sam's Club. They actually have dellicious cupcakes (and cakes for that matter) and are extremely reasonably priced. They are easy to work with and can do any color frosting you want. The cake flavors are only vanilla or chocolate though; that was ok with us but might bug other people.

@AMW213: We just ordered our cupcake stand from save-on-crafts.com:

They have square or round, and several sizes. They are supposed to be really sturdy and look wasy to decorate. You can rent them too, from Cake Arts supply store and probably other places, but it was more expensive than buying this heavy cardboard one.

Ok, after reading the other posts, I take back the cake in a cup comment. lol How disappointing!!! I was under the imoression that if you are ordering a large amount, you could pick the flavors! And I was thinking of going with them too. But Maybe I will give Wixeys a try. In my defense, their cupcakes are delicious though. lol  Sounds like if cake in a cup doesnt get their act together they won't be around much longer.  Bad customer service is not a good way to get people in the door.

Their cupcakes are very good. But as someone else mentioned, their customer service is lacking. I made an apointment to go in there, and the owner forgot about us so she was almost an hour late. By the time she got there, we were already done with our tasting and all she did was give us a quote and leave again. Not to mention, she looked like she had just rolled out of bed.

So I finally heard back from the owner, 3 weeks later... There is no budging on the flavors for a catered order. You get to choose from what is available for that day, not the whole menu. She did offer that I could pick the flavors for Friday, pick up the cupcakes for my wedding on Friday then use them on Saturday. When I said I was consideirng the full service option they have, delivery, cake stand ect. she just said "well I can't deliver Friday cakes on Saturday." So needless to say, I am in search of somewhere else for cupcake or even just regular cake at this point.

What about City Bake Shop in Sandusky?  Wendy Kromer's cakes (and cupcakes) are awesome.

Timberline Bakery at the Zoo believe it or not! Lots of flavors/designs to choose from and only .90 a cupcake :) We're having red velvet with cream cheese frosting and mint chocolate chip with chocloate frosting. Cake in a Cup is outrageous!
