I absolutely love Disneyworld.  I went last summer with a large group of people so we stayed in a villa at one of the resorts.  Check out the resorts because they're really more convenient than staying off the property.  There's shuttle to all the parks and Downtown Disney.  We never waited more than 10 minutes to catch one.  The upside to staying at resort is that you can catch a bus to one of the others.  They all have they're own unique features so if you want to check out a pool or restaurant at one of the other resorts you have that option as well.  I flew in to Orlando and they pick up your luggage and deliver it to your room.  You can also have souvenirs delivered to your room so it's one less thing to carry around the park.

We visited all the parks and did just about everything there.  We got parkhopper passes which allows you unlimited visits to all the parks so you aren't stuck in one place all day.  It's well worth the money.  Also, the extra magic hours a nice.  The crowd is much smaller and you're not out during the hottest part of the day.  The parks stay open til 2 am so we would  stay late then just sleep in the next morning.

My favorite park is the Animal Kingdom.  The safari is really great, but I enjoyed the whole atmosphere of the park. Definitely check out the Finding Nemo show if you go there.

    Hope that helps!

    Have you ever been?
Grew up less than an hour from Orlando - went there about 5 times a year until I was 20ish.

Where did you stay [in a nearby hotel or in disney / name of that place]?
Everywhere from the Polynesian Hotel to Days Inn in Lake Buena Vista , I went where the deals were :)

    Did you drive / fly?
    Drove , always.

    Did you like it?
I STILL love Disney , it has a lot of personal memories for me , and always puts a smile on my face.

What did you do while there?
All the rides , had some amazing food , great friends and family times

    Favorite place?
    Pirates of the Caribbean

    Best memory:
Ironically , this is kind of a sad one , but after my mom passed away in 2005 , my middle sister and myself decided to go to Disney World to honor and celebrate her life since it was her favorite place. I went on space mountain for the first time ( it was my mom's favorite ride ever)

I'm not dissin on anyone here, but the mere thought of going to Disney World makes me cringe. I went as a child. I don't remember it, except for the Its a Small World ride. I did go to Paradise Island (?) as an adult late at night - and since it was all only the bars and no children I found it to be an alright time.

FI and I go to Disneyland every year when we go down to Anaheim for a gaming convention as well and we love it - but we know just as many people who don't. It just holds different attraction for different people, or none. I admit i'm such a disney fiend , it probably has to do with the fact it holds some of the happiest memories of my life in an overall dismal and depressing family life.

But to each their own :)

    Have you ever been?
Once when I was 7 and in March but I only went to Downtown Disney so I don't count that

Where did you stay [in a nearby hotel or in disney / name of that place]?
We stayed at the music hotel? I forgot the name of it

    Did you drive / fly?
    Fly

    Did you like it?
I was 7, of course I did. Now it's so much $$ I think all I would think about is how much I spent to go (without children)

What did you do while there?
Went to the parks and Blizzard Beach

    Favorite place?
Honey I Shrunk the Kids playgound- Once again, I was 7, lol

    Best memory:
We went down the big log ride and my dad lost his hat. It the picture after the ride you could see his hat hover about a foot from his head.

I would love to go again but it's too much money for BF and I to go. I'd rather wait until we have kids and go to Universal until then.

Both FI and I have only been to Euro Disney (him when he lived in England, me with my sister when our dad was working in Paris).

My sister and I had SUCH an amazing time!  Paris was completely shut down because of 3" of snow that fell the night before, and we were pretty much the only people in the park.  We rode Space Mountain six times in a row because there was no line and they let us just stay on it as long as we wanted, and the pirates in Pirates of the Caribbean were singing in French in the snow, it was hilarious :-)  Add a headless Mickey smoking a cigarette and wine with our "American" lunch (hot dogs) and it sums up the best theme park experience of my life!

Have you ever been? Many times!

Where did you stay [in a nearby hotel or in disney / name of that place]? I've stayed in a bunch of different places I don't remember the names of them though.

Did you drive / fly? Since I'm from Idaho we flew :)

Did you like it? I LOVED it!! I'm totally a Disney girl.

What did you do while there? Had the time of my life...we went to all the parks. Epcot is really fun when you are older but you really have to visit all the parks when you are there.

Favorite place? I like the magic kingdom but all of the parks are really fun.

Best memory: When I was a little girl (about three) it was late in the day and we were leaving the park and I was really sad because I hadn't seen Mickey Mouse. But then right by the gate Mickey Mouse is standing there with literally nobody around him (that NEVER happens) so I go and sit on his lap and since I'm three I just have so much to tell him lol and all this adults come up and try to pull me away so that their kids can talk to Mickey but oh no he just gives them the hand and turns away so that I can finish. Which was just really cool when I was so little.

I also went there when I was a junior in high school with my best friends and that was really fun too!

    Have you ever been?
    I went twice!

Where did you stay [in a nearby hotel or in disney / name of that place]?

The first time I stayed in Universal Studios at the Portofino Bay; the second time I stayed in Winter Garden at my aunt's time share.

    Did you drive / fly?

    Flew both times

    Did you like it?

Love it, can NOT wait to go back. I'd like to go during Christmas time.

What did you do while there?
EVERYTHING! Every corny ride, every silly attraction, every single Epcot pavillion. We went to the Hall of Presidents and we got to see the Barack Obama animatronic, it was so moving! We did everything except eat. We always ate off-site (cheaper that way). The second time I went was the best because we would leave for the parks at 10am and then not go home til they kicked us out.

    Favorite place?
Ooh, tough. Place as in place? Or place as in ride? My fave ride is Pirates of the Carribean, my favorite place is the England pavillion in Epcot. They usually have a good band playing and you can get a hard cider.

    Best memory
Watching the Illumination fireworks at Epcot with my mother, who was there for the first time at the age of 53, and crying tears of happiness with her as she kept repeating, "I'm in DISNEY!!!!"

I LOVE Disney World. FI and I are HUGE Disney people. He used to live in FL and even worked at Disney as a very special talking dog. Currently we live in LA so we have annual passes to Disneyland and go very often. We plan on moving back down to Orlando in a few years so we can actually be close to Disney World. I have been to Disney World about 5 times and my family would always rent a condo for the week but FI's family would always stay at a Disney hotel when they went. I flew down there once and the other times we drove, from Ohio that was a LONG drive. We love Disney World so much we are moving down there is a few years just to be close to it. While we were down there we could do as much as we could but my favorite thing is the World Showcase in Epcot, I just LOVE it. Walking from China to Italy to France is so much fun!!!! My best Disney World memory was meeting my FI, yes we met at Disney World while he was living down there and working at Disney and I was on vacation. My favorite Disneyland memory is my FI proposing!.

P.S. I know this was on the not yet engaged board but when I was looking around I saw this topic and had to respond

    Have you ever been?
Twice--once in jr high and in spring 2007 when I was in Orlando for a trade show.

Where did you stay [in a nearby hotel or in disney / name of that place]?
Last time was the Wyndham Orlando Resort. Quite nice and the price wasn't bad (stayed there for work and chose to still stay for the three extra days for vacation).

    Did you drive / fly?
Fly. I live in California! And since it was for work, I didn't pay.

    Did you like it?
Loved it. We did one day at Epcot and one at MGM Studios. I also love Disneyland.  =)

What did you do while there?
Most everything at those two parks. Saw the Beauty & the Beast stage show, did most of the rides, saw every country pavillion at Epcot.

    Favorite place?
Japan at Epcot. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at MGM.

    Best memory:
Not from the park, but it was having breakfast with my coworkers at Waffle House because one of the guys said we had to go while we were there. It was the first time I had grits!
Also Soaring really made me want to go back to Disneyland (at the time, I hadn't been in 10 years). I went with my BF two years ago and had such a great time that I want to go again this year.
