Has anyone heard of this as a wedding party dance?  I got the idea from a coworker and he said the weding party gets into a circle with a bottle of sangria and dances to latin music?  I need ideas for this, music?

  • This is a fun dance!! I was at 2 weddings where they did this. It's basically a big circle of people and the sangria is in a big jug with a long spout! You dance and then the person who has the jug of sangria goes to the center of the circle, then they drink from the long spout. Then the pick someone else in the circle and it's their turn to drink from the spout. You keep taking turns and drinking until the jug is empty! I got pretty tipsy at my best friends wedding from the sangria dance, lol. Can't remember the music exactly but it sounded like latin music.

Ewww, wait.  So everyone in the big circle of people drinks from the same jug?  Ummm, no thank you.  I'd be passing on that one.

  • We are doing this at our wedding.  I have seen it done at other weddings as well.  We dance to the song sangria wine by Jerry Jeff Walker.  It is basically a way to get some of the adults on the dance floor and let loose.  We actually just use wine- not sangria but it has the same effect.  The bride and groom start off in the middle of a circle with a bottle each.  They drink as much as they want then pass it to whoever they want and take that persons place in the circle.  It is fun to watch people do crazy dance moves while they drink the wine.  Once those bottles are finished you can add two more and keep going until you want the dance to end. I agree, it is gross when you think that everyone is drinking from the same bottle, but its a great way to switch over from a formal dinner to a fun/crazy dance party!
