Charlotte invitations?

does anyone have recommendations on where to purchase your invites? I don't want to pay a Cachillion dollars, but I don't even know where to begin! How long do invites take to come in?

I would actually suggest checking out Etsy. I wish I had known more about Etsy when we were at the point of getting invites. I love the ones we had, but there are so many awesome/pretty/cute ones on Etsy and most seem to be in a good price range :)

I'm not from charlotte, but we got our invitations at Michaels and the turned out reallllly well :) after printing and assembling them, we showed them to family and they all thought we had custom ordered them (they had textured paper). Hope that helps!

Some of the Hallmark stores actually have a decent selection.  I got mine at a store in Greensboro, but some in Charlotte might carry wedding invitations.  My order came in 3 weeks without a problem, and I got 150 invites (normal invites, not pocket or anything fancy) for about $350) -- invite, reception card, rsvp card, outer envelope, inner envelope, return envelope, and thank you cards included in that price.

It's not in Charlotte, but I HIGHLY recommend Reaves Engraving (clicky). They do letterpress, engraving and thermography and their prices are ridiculously cheap for what it is.

They'll send you a whole bunch of samples to look and and offer lots of great customization options. All of their pricing is on the website, but they also send you a list with the samples.

We'll be paying well under $5/invitation for:
-Letterpress invitations with inner and outer envelope
-Embossed return address on outer envelope
-Response card set with address printed
    -Reception card
-Calligraphy on inner and outer envelopes
    -PDF proof

I also got ours at Michaels, and had a similar reaction from family/friends...they just couldn't believe I made them myself!  The Michaels in the University Area is where I got all my DIY stuff for the wedding...I bought the invites over a year before the wedding, so that I was able to get them on sale.

check out Darci with DG Invites out of Charlotte. We saw her work at the Charlotte Bridal Show and were very impressed. She meet with me up in the University area, and is currently working on a boarding pass design for invitations. Great work!!!
