Ceremony in Jackson SQ and need a nearby hotel to get ready

Daughter is getting married early March 2012 in Jackson Square and we
would like a suiite for 2 nights so that she has the room all day  to get ready.  We checked into Bienville and their suite runs $500 a night.  Any other ideas.?  We are hoping for walking distance to Jackson Sq but trying to keep an open mind.  Also there will be 6 attendents and 2 flower girls so we need plenty of space.

    You can try the Omni Royal Orleans on St. Louis. It's about 2 blocks from Jackson Square. Also, there is the Bourbon Orleans Hotel on Orleans, which is around the corner from Jackson Square. I'm not sure what suite prices run for either hotel, but they are very close to the Square. Good luck!

    Try the Hotel Monteleone, Chateau Bourbon and Royal Sonesta, too. If you have a block of rooms somewhere, I'd see if that hotel can give you free upgrade.

    My wedding is in Jackson Square in March 2012 as well!! How fun! We are doing March 16th :) What weekend are you guys doing?  I would suggest the Omni Royal as well! They have great suites that have a good amount of room and you can also get suites with a balcony which is awesome for pictures! I am looking for a place too and the Omni is one of my favorites! I will let you know if I find some better places!

    Thanks.  We'll check into those.  Our weekend is March 3rd.  I know we have plaenty of time, but in some ways, it seems like the time is flying by.    Where's your reception?  We went with Pat O's On the River.

    I know what you mean! Time flies when you're planning a wedding! I actually looked into Pat O's but my wedding is smaller so I didn't have enough people to rent the space.  I am actually flying into New Orleans at the end of this month to finalize our venue! So excited! We are thinking it's going to be Broussards but we are looking at a few places so we'll see. Also, I was looking at Hotels for ya and I found the Cornstalk hotel which is right on Royal st. and it looks super cute! Their nicest suite looks beautiful from the pics. You should check it out :)

    I am getting married in Jackson Square in 2 weeks! I had a year to plan, and it flew by! We are booked at Bourbon Orleans and have the suites!

    The Bourbon Orleans Hotel is right behind the Cathedral.  It's a very pretty hotel and I think it's 3.5 star rated.
