newbs and lurkers

I know you are there......why haven't you posted?  A lot of our regular posters have gone and gotten themselves hitched (how dare they!!).  We need some more chatter!  Introduce yourselves!

I could start random posts everyday and see if that helps! LOL .... any ideas? Maybe a question of the day or an Idea of the day?

I am definitely a lurker...I come on the board mostly daily but only to escape work and full time schooling.... I promise I'll be more active because I love getting to see all the great ideas on here! :)

work and school's been crazy...  I noticed that it's getting quieter, I'm thinking of taking the next semester off so I can concentrate on details...Then I know I can be more active :)

I haven't really posted a lot because my FI and I haven't decided on a date yet. We keep going back and forth between a few but we're concerned about there being a problem with people coming at certain times. What do you think?

Right now we have either Nov. 24th 2012 or December 29th 2012 as tentative dates. We don't want to interfere with our family's holiday celebrations, but we feel that it would be easier to plan around a holiday weekend because then it's easier for family members who are OoT to travel (meaning not have to take time off from work).

    What does everyone else think??

USF, since you have so much time ahead of yourself, why not bump up your date to a less family-oriented holiday, like Colombus Day?  I would personally have trouble getting time off to go to a Christmastime wedding because so many people at work already take time off for that.  Columbus Day is usually a long weekend, the weather is great in FL, and that way you can celebrate the holidays as newlyweds!

I lurk mostly because after I got a LOT of appreciated help selecting my vendors, I didn't need much more advice than that.  But I am certainly willing to give any!  I have two weeks left and can't concentrate at work, so maybe I'll chime in on other posts now. :)

I've been a lurker because of school, but everyone has been so helpful in photographer ideas that it makes me wonder why I haven't been posting sooner!

I've been a lurker too, mostly because I have no idea what I'm doing! I am finally getting my act together and trying to nail down some vendors. I live in NYC and am having my wedding in Tampa (Grand Hyatt) so need as much local insight as I can get. I finally settled on the photographer and agree with the PP that everyone's reviews/insight is SUPER helpful.  I am going with Pure Emotions and would never have found them w/o a happy bride's post on this community board. I am convinced to start contributing now:)

I wouldn't do it those weekends because travel can be very expensive and difficult for people (so busy!) What about Veteran's Day or Columbus, most ppl have the day off and nothing to do.
